      Try these settings in android
Settings -> [DEVICE] USB -> Enable Connect to PC
Settings -> [PERSONAL] Security -> Enable Unknown Sources

I've never found a similar issue around.
"and it's no longer detected even thoug it remains connected" => what does it mean? can you explain?

        Try to do
        7) erase nand (idb)
        and/or
        8) flash the firmware of your choice
as fast as possible... Maybe it avoids the reboot

Sorry, my english is not good.
At first the pc detects the stick in mask mode. But 8 seconds later the sticks powers itself off, the red led is off as it's no longer detected by the pc. It's like it was unplugged from the pc but in fact it's still plugged into one pc's usb port.
The same thing happens when I plug it in the power supply, just 8 seconds later it powers itself off.
In the 8 seconds available I could erase nand but in that short time I obviously can't flash it .
            Thanks for your concern.

OK, because it is off the PC can't recognize it any longer...

But if you're able to start the process (erase OR flash) my hope was, that it doesn't turn off during that process...

I would suggest you check your power supply. I have the suspicion that it is corrupt...
