I pulled the back cover off the PTAB7XC and here's what is revealed...

The rest of the text on the ribbon cable to the screen is "R01B"

If you need to see something further, let me know. I was going to stop at this point until I had the replacement screen in hand. It appears that the next step is removing about 8 screws to get to the screen itself, which I'd be happy to do if you need to see something further.

ok so looks like it is a different part to me, the shape of the ribon cable is not the same. that is not to say it wouldnt work, just that it might not fit into the assembled unit either. the whole part number was wtp723c-r01b and i do see that coming uip on various google searches including one that mentioned this screen being used on a ming xin m70 elite a13 tablet which might give you some more options for searching

I'm not sure why, but my Google searches on that are pretty much coming up blank...

            ARISE...thread from the past...

Not a Polaroid query, but a screen query.

How did you know that was the right screen? I have a next7s I am trying to find a replacement screen for but the numbers are "inconclusive"...???

I believe it is a Hannstar HSD070 something...but there are no more numbers on it and all the screens I find have different numbers in the middle and the end.

Am I to ASSume that if the cables, pins, features (800x480), resistive, etc match up than it is correct?

            TIA!

Sorry if I am not seeing the forest for the trees...

I think the part number is HSD070IDWI A(something)

I think if you just do a **** search for that tablet I'd bet replacement screens will show up as well. The screens seem to hit as fast as a new tablet comes out so there must be a market and profit to be made selling replacements, which is good if you don't want to buy a whole tablet again. The newest Ainol venus quad core IPS 7" tablet hasn't been out long at all and it has a super high res screen for it's size and they have screens for it already.

Tried that. Tried efun, nextbook, etc. This same tab also has another generic name (y something) but I can't find that either.

I get matches on the HSD 070, but there are different submodels.

I have **** set to email me automagically.

I bet if we had a vendor on the board that sold replacement screens, they would do very well...

I am still looking for some website or guide that can cross reference scrrens and tabs. Would make a good sticky...

I guess maybe that tab is just not popular enough for anyone to bother The bigger name China tabs seem to have all kinds of parts available for them which is why I upgraded to a Ainol Nova ips screened tab that looks really nice. I want that Venus someday too as that thing should fly. I still like my Polaroid for what it was and my mom now uses it occasionally, it's way better then the Sylvania I started out with to see if I liked using a tablet for cheap.
