hi can someone help me?today i tried to change the firmware to my andrid box CS918 but after trying give me an error and the box now wont power on.any suggests?

Maybe try another 5V PSU...

yes totaly dead no lights on and the adapter is good.

hmmmm, but if it's totally dead (no lights on) you can try to do 'MaskRom' mode, because I think it can't get more worse...

Try powering the unit.. using the usb2micro usb cable
-like by using a external powered usb hub or adaptor
To rule-out a broken/blown dc port fuse

Just a thought..

This is the cs918b that is what it says on the back. I need the firmware for it either 4.2.2 or 4.4 if anyone has it can you send it to me thanks. I installed a version of 4.4 but I can't get wifi or Lan can someone help me

RKBatchTool_v1.7 and the light came blue but for a few seconds.can you help me what is wrong?

About what one of your boxes do we talk?
1. This one which is totally dead?
2. Or the one which stops booting up at android logo (http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...128#post211128) ?

And what means "blue but for a few seconds"?
3. Do the PC lost the connection after some seconds?
4. Or only the RKBatchTool?

I don't know if you can / have to release the shorting of the oins after it is recognize as MaskRom mode OR you have to short the pins also during the Erase and/or Flash process (as I wrote, I never use it)....

i am talking about the dead one.but the other one i did it. now its working.

the problem is with the dead one when i try to erase the nand its tell me this ERROR:MaskRom must choose loader for erasing..what can i do?

Nice to hear, that the one which stopped at boot up NOW works

Maybe if you use the RKAndroidTool to erase the NAND you have to place one of the 'RK3188xxxx' at the same directory

and maybe you must edit the config of the RKAndroidTool to use it (activating it via check it at the first column)

I prefer the RKAndroidTool because I'm able to flash separate parts.

To use it, you need at minimum the bootloader (RK3188Loader(L)_V1.2x.bin), (the parameter file) and 1 image file (misc, boot, kernel or...) that you want to flash.

The first column is for selecting/activating what you want to use to flash.
The second column called "Address" contains the value depends of the parameter file.
The third column called "Name" contains the value depends of the parameter file.
And the last column called "Path" contains the whole filename.
These whole settings can be save or load by using right mouse button at one of the rows, and add new rows also...

First row have to contains the bootloader (RK3188Loader(L)_V1.2x.bin) at address 0x00000000 with Name=Loader . Don't ask me why, I couldn't get an answer, but it seems it is a must to have (Perhaps after "EraseIDB" (nand) for temporary use in ram??? Because the parameter file have the same address as the bootloader, but I've also seen a picture at the internet where the bootloader hasn't any address???) ...

I think you can ignore the parameter file and the image file...

now ok i did it i wake it up the blue light comes on.now the problem is the firmware i put the wesser new one but its not working good like remote wifi etc.can you tell me wich is the best firmware i can use?
