    Pipo P4 RileyROM 1.2 (RK3288)

Pipo's second tablet to market with the RK3288 proc is the P4. It's an 8.9" tablet very similar to the Pipo T9 MTK tablet.

While I don't own one, nor do I know of anyone who does...I've put together a ROM based on the most recent Pipo firmware update dated 7/31/14. This is for the wifi only tablet. There isn't currently a firmware available to the 3G version.

I'm using the new flash tool from Rockchip for this ROM, so the terminology and look will be just a little bit different than my RK3188 ROM's.

    1. Download the ROM Kit for your version (wifi or 3g).
    2. Unzip the kit on your desktop, or wherever you downloaded it.
    3. Open the AndroidTool.exe
    4. With your tablet turned on, with USB debugging turned off (in settings), plug in the USB cable. Be sure to always use the USB cable that came with the tablet.
    5. Make sure the USB drivers are installed for the Rockchip device. (see the First Time User's Guide for details, if you are having trouble)
    6. You should see the tablet recognized by "Found One MSC Device" in the bottom of the tool.
    7. Click the Flash Mode button to reboot the tablet to flash mode. The screen will turn black.
    8. Click Erase IDB. It will count to 100% (very quickly).
    9. Click Flash ROM
    10. When the flash is finished, the tablet will boot into stock recovery and will format your partitions.
    11. First boot will take a little longer than usual...just be patient and watch the boot animation.
    12. Once the tablet boots to the system...you will have a fresh, rooted system to work with.

    This ROM is:

    Rooted
    Debloated
    English as default language
    init.d support added
    Busybox commands added
    Google Play Store fixes added
    Reboot app by Petrus
Your choice of 2, 6, 12gb user app space (select the parameter file you want to flash)

    Download Wifi Only Version

    Enjoy!!!!

    Please.....Don't forget to donate.

    I'm contemplating buying this tab

Is there any reason not to have the maximum app space?
What's the benefit of having 2 or 6GB only?

It depends on what you use your tablet for.

If you play a lot of games you will want a bigger app space.

If you store a lot of data...like documents or movies...or take a lot of pictures, you may want a larger internal SD card.

The larger the app space, the smaller the internal SD space becomes. That's where the space comes from.

Typically, factory firmware will default to only 2gb user app space. That isn't enough for even the average user. I find that 4gb suits me quite well...but since I'm a flashaholic....I don't always load a bunch of apps on my devices....only the ones I really use everyday.

Hello, i tried to flash my pipo p4 with firmware riley 1.2.
Everything went ok, but at the end my tablet didn't reboot .... i waited like 20minutes, and now my tablet won't boot anymore... nothing works..

i tried everything, reset button, holding the buttons for like 30/60 seconds...
Windows does not recognize the tablet anymore

              -edit-

I tried to flash the tablet again with riley rom 1.2. And again the same problem ....
After that i tried to flash it with oma's rom .. and that worked...

so the riley rom 1.2 does not work

Which parameter file are you trying to flash?

It's possible that I've made a mistake in the parameter calculations, but until now, nobody has tested it.

Try flashing the default parameter which is stock. If that works, I will make new parameter files.

Otherwise, we will have to do some troubleshooting. The boot.img is different from the P1, so that's another thing I can change and test.

If someone with a P4 is willing to try some test runs for me, I can get this thing to work. But I don't have time until tomorrow night to work on it. I'm working a 12 hour shift at the Emergency Room starting in a little while, and I'm at the firehouse tomorrow...no ROM's until after 5:00.

Try using the boot.img from the Oma ROM.

Otherwise....it may be the boot animation that is causing the problem.

Here is a test ROM from this latest firmware.

The build.prop says this is Android 4.4.4....interesting.

I've corrected the parameter files and verified that the boot animation is the correct size.

I have made 3 different boot.img files. I've signed them 3 different ways to see which is the correct method. If it doesn't boot with the default, try each of the other boot_X.img files and let me know which one works.

                          Download
