We've known about the problem and fix for a long time; actually since the sources were released to the public months ago.

Someone would have to compile a patch or kernel with the fix for our chipset. I'm not set up to compile kernels at the moment so it likely won't be from me, at least not any time soon.

is not good news, and where to get the source code for this assembly

I tried a lot of firmware, this is the most stable and the device does not get hot, but the sound does not work

have you been able to run it with a stable version of 4.2.2 without too much bugs and getting a good performance out of it?

None of the 4.2.2 versions are stable; the worst thing of all being no built-in standby/sleep function, and a ton of other bugs

So this thing is pretty much useless until someone make a custom kernel for it for the Kitkat rom...

Depends. I gave it to my brother and he uses it to run emulators. But for most of us, yup. . . .

              J21 KitKat audio issue

I have a J21 with also no audio via HDMI.
But bluetooth works finally in KitKat again - it did not work with Finless Bob ROM 1.7 (Android 4.1) that I used before.

I have 2 workarounds for the audio issue:
              1) listen to audio via bluetooth; that works, so I send the audio from J21 to my bluetooth enabled speakers.
              2) I use an elcheapo USB-audio card and connect the audio out to my TV audio in. Works also.

I wonder though, does working bluetooth audio mean that the audio chip of J21 is in fact supported in KitKat but the DVI sink problem is causing No Sound via HDMI?

              Regards, Harry
