Its a cs918/k-r42/mk888 or t-r42.. this tvbox is sold under many names
-note there are about 26 pcb/motherboard versions/revisions, and the only way to see what you have..is to open the unit
    --http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...s918-and-T-r42
    In short..
You never really know.. what you get

Only a few sites like geekbuying.. sometimes state what pcb you might get..

    Oops.. forgot
Root.. there is a howto on blog.geekbuying.com... and vids on youtube
    Short version..
Download moborobo and tpsarky from rockchip.nl/downloads
Connect your unit to usb2.0 port On your pc..using usb2micro-usb cable
Install moborobo.. quit app... run tpsarky -follow the steps as stated... 3 unit reboots and you have root

    Goodluck

      thanks

when i open it,where i need to look to find out which model it is?

and do you know anything about rooting for boxes similar to this one

do i just need to download some tool and flash a custom rom or something else?
or maybe there is just root for rom which i already have(i would prefer that)

oh now i see that you already told me about root thanks

        i just have a problem

moborobo gets stuck at 99% when trying to install driver :/

it finally finished and said that driver was not found

i have downloaded some drivers manually but they have no exe file...how do i install them?

EDIT: i did it at the end, thanks
