Simple answer needed for simple question.

    Hi,

I'm looking for the most stable and problem free ROM + XBMC combination.

I know there are a lot of great ROMs out there, but I only use my X7 to run XBMC. Nothing else.

    What would be your suggestions?
    maybe Finless 1.9 + Gotham 13.2?

Or is there another bug-free combo?

    Thanks.

Also, what would be the best kernel if I only use an HDMI cable attached to a 1080 tv.

    I recommend wasser firmware 1.0.4

I used finless 1.9 and beyond xbmc for some time with no issues. Everything I tried worked good and the ROM was fast and smooth.

I now use wasser 1.0.4 with OC kernel from 1.0.3a (which causes a bug in otg but I don't use the port anyway) with KODI helix and passthrough mod from karel. This ROM and XBMC combination is freakin awesome smooth, fast and rock solid stable if you don't use OC kernel.

Hope this helps you make a decision?
      Minix Neo X7 - Wasser 1.0.4 OC'd - Kodi-helix with passthrough
      Beelink M8B - Wasser 1.0.3 - Kodi-helix alpha 2 + SPMC

Really? Okay, I'll try wasser 1.0.4 next.

        So that means....

        1) wasser 1.0.4 with included kernal (no OC)
        2) KODI helix. Would that be Alpha 2 or a nightly?
        3) What is the karel passthrough mod?

I know I can find it here, http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...ighlight=karel

        But what does it do?

        Thanks.

The simple fact... there are no simple answers.

Everyone has different needs in a ROM... each of the ones posted in the above sticky posts have their own fans for their own reasons. Much of the same is true ( to a lesser degree ) with the various forks ( versions ) of XBMC as well.

In the end... only the user can say which is their "perfect" combination... because each user will have different needs and use them in different manners. So it may be an easy question to ask, but the number of possible combinations of apps, launchers and add-ons makes each installation unique as does the needs of the user... the answer is actually very complex in the end.

Thanks so much ant/Orak!! You made my day/week/year !!!
