Help with WiFi issues, Stock / Finless, help!

    Hiya,

I have a flaky clone MK808B, the stock rom fails with Netflix (my sole reason for buying the thing) so I thought I would try and flash a custom rom.

I am somewhat familiar with android and linux (I started out with the ADP1 ) but I dont know how to 'port' or transfer the wifi driver.

I have the files from the stock rom and want to get them working with the Finless one, I can get it booting fine using the stock kernel, but wifi / bluetooth fails (so its the same kernel its compiled against if i transfer it ?) everything else is working perfectly (or what I can test, obviously)

if someone could just point me in the direction of a guide on how to transfer the wifi driver, or point it out here that would be a great help. I don't really care about bluetooth I only need wifi.

Or if there is a rom for this board (see pics) that will work, then I can use that, but I cant get anything to work completely other than stock.

Try flashing this one....if it works...i am working on a finalized one that is 720.

Means you have a realtek chip.

Judging by your loader version it probably is.

It's been said that you can just use finless' ROM Flash Tool.exe, click the empty white box to the right of kernel.img in the list to browse for an alternate kernel.img (your stock one), then flash it --- but we've seen that it doesn't always work (like the R-Box clone, which locks up on boot/splash screen if you try that).

I don't use windows. I am actually currently away from home, and my only access is windows 8.1 and none of the tricks for the drivers seem to work. so I am using linux of a live usb and the upgrade_tool to flash.

if I use the stock kernel it boots fine, but I lose wifi :/ I have tried a couple of roms for mt5931 but nonr seem to boot, all show no

              signal.

apologies for typos I shall correct tomorrow, I have been out tonight

Have you tried this 4.4.2 ROM?

It's compatible with the MediaTek wireless chipset in your device.

                  Yeah, no signal again :/

I would say its a broken board, but it works 'fine' with stock.

I am flashig it right ?

I wipe it, flash the loader, then the parameter, then boot, kernel, recovery, misc and system (all from the downloaded file)

So there is no confusion, that's no signal on the TV not WiFi

I have bricked it I think

linux upgrade tool no longer see's it, dmesg does. So I shall look at it in a fortnight when I can get near a windows 7 box.
