    M8 blue light problem.

Can someone help me please. I have an M8 android Box that although it turns off after I switch it off the light remains blue. It had this firmware
    3.10.33

    ubuntu@ubuntu188#7
    Sat Jul 19 11:59:42 cst 2014

    Now I installed the
NEW - Finless 1.8 for EM8 Square Box but the problem persisted. Even if I leave it overnight it still remains like it is ON. I switched on the TV to see if it turned ON by itself but it didn't.

I think this is a model wide firmware problem. At least, it frequently happens with mine.

                    Hey guys,

I know I'm bringing this up from the dead but I have 2 M8 boxes which I just purchases. One of them, the light stays on endlessly. The other, when I turn the unit off, the hdmi cuts off and then 30 seconds later the screen flashes green and then the light turns off.

Is there any way to fix both issues with both boxes?

                    Thanks!

Sound like you have old firmware, thats what used to happen in the early days.

can you post your firmware details as in dates etc

I also have another model doing the same - s805.

After extensively testing, I notice it sometimes does go off...it's intermittent. I would say half of the time it doesn't. I went to sleep last night and the light was still on in the morning.

Here are the details from both models:

                          Thanks!
you need to update the firmware it has early stage firmware and hence the blue light and green screen issues.

Ask you supplier to supply you with current updated roms and your blue light issues etc will be solved

Thanks bud, I just bought an SD card and flashed the M5 but it's the same firmware, same issues. Can I get the firmware elsewhere? Unless I did something wrong.

I got the zip, unzipped it - m201 zip file ,factory_update file, recovery file. I unzipped the m201 in to the same folder as the factory update and recovery file and put that all on the sd. I booted, it started the proces, installing, erasing, etc. Did I miss anything?

I have some more info on the M5 box...something is wrong with the remotes that it comes with.

The remote which comes with the unit has a usb receiver and when I use it on the model, it doesn't completely shut off the unit. When I hit the power (or hold for several seconds - makes no difference), it kills the video to the tv - no signal, but the box is still on and the blue light remains on. When it's "off" and I hit power, nothing happens. To boot it up I have to unplug and replug the power cord.

I tried my other remote which doesn't require the usb receiver (this remote was from the m8) and it controls the M5 perfectly (for the most part). When it's "off" and the blue light is flashing, if I use the other remote and hit power, immediately it shuts off fully and goes red. If I hit power again, it powers on, hit it again, red light off. Only thing I noticed when using the M8 remote is during video playback, the volume buttons kick me out of xbmc.

Any ideas about this remote issue I'm having with the m5?

See below. The one on the right is the problematic one with the M5 units. The left one is from the M8 which works perfect on the M5.

In regards to the M8 flash, I upgraded it to the below:

                              3.10.33

                              Mon Dec 22 14:16:50 CST 2014

Still the exact same issue with the light on all the time. Is there any way to get the firmware from elsewhere? All of my units are trash right now.
