    Pipo P4 RileyROM 1.4 (Android 4.4.4)

This ROM is based on official Pipo Firmware dated 8/12/14 #568 for the wifi only version of the Pipo P4 RK3288 tablet.

I'm not exactly sure what changes were made in this new firmware.

    This ROM is:

    Rooted with SuperSU
    Deboated
    Init.d/Busybox support added
Pre-Install added (can install apps automatically from external SD "autoinstall" folder)
    Reboot App by Petrus
2, 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12gb user app space (by choosing the desired parameter file).

    TWRP Recovery coming soon!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy!...and remember to donate to support future RileyROM development.

I guess all of the P4 users are either sleeping, or partying on a Saturday night....but I have good news!!!!!!

Abdul_pt has created a custom TWRP recovery for the Pipo P4.

    Just get it here:

    TWRP

To install TWRP recovery, just open the Flash Tool and uncheck all of the items except recovery. Click the little box to the right of the recovery line and browse to the location you saved this TWRP recovery file and select it as the recovery file.

Click the switch button to reboot to flash mode. Don't erase IDB. Just click Run and the recovery will flash.

Your tablet will reboot to system when it's done flashing. Just open the Reboot App and select Reboot to Recovery to get into TWRP.

Future RileyROM versions will include this TWRP recovery with the auto install feature.

Please test and report the results....of both this new ROM and TWRP recovery.

      hello ! thanks

      they both work fine,

first i installed riley rom 1.4
after that i installed TWRP, and booting with recovery to twrp works fine.

i will now check if the battery drain bug is still there

      -edit-

and if i use 32gb sd card wich parameter should you recommed?

and riley rom 1.4 doesn't have nova launcher???

      edit-

after 3 hours battery is still on 93%, and started with 93% ... so it's looking good.

        Hello

        Hello I have a question!

actually pipo p4 is wifi version, 3g support is option.

but software inside p4 has 3g option.

        It seems to be battary-waste.

4.4.4 firmware has it too? or can I delete 3g setting?

This ROM is based on Pipo's non-3G firmware. There may be a few 3G services running in the background, though. I'm not familiar with ways to defeat those services yet in 4.4.4.

The current flash tool is in the RileyROM kit in post #1.

If you choose not to flash my ROM, but only the TWRP Recovery....all you have to do is run the flash tool and uncheck all of the components except recovery.img...and browse the flash tool to the TWRP file, instead of the stock recovery.img. Do not erase IDB, or you will need to flash the whole ROM.

If you choose to flash the whole ROM, I suggest doing it first with the stock recovery, so it will format all of the partitions correctly. Then go back and just flash the TWRP recovery by itself.

If it's the first time you've tried flashing with the Rockchip Flash Tool, you will need to set up your USB drivers for it. For some, this is the most difficult part of the process. The drivers are included in the RileyROM kit.

The best way to install the drivers is to turn off automatic driver installation in Windows. Then, with the tablet connected in flash mode...with the USB cable that came with the tablet...manually install the driver when prompted.

I haven't had time to update my First Time User's Guide for these 3288 tablets, but the instructions for installing the drivers is the same. Here

I want to backup the stock ROM before flashing your ROM

Finally my tab arrived, downloading now and I'll be flashing tonight!
So I tried to flash but I am having driver issues, it says device won't start with the provide drivers? I installed the Win 7 x64 drivers as I am running that and disabled USB Debugging. I use the android tool to switch, it says one loader device found and when I hit Run it only says device fail.

Any tips what I am doing wrong?

Edit: Do NOT connect to USB3 port apparantly, it will fail

I just found a battery drain as well, within 1 hours the battery went from 100 to 1%. Any information I can get from the tablet that would be helpful to share? But it says my display used it all up while it was in the Pipo case with the cover on.

You can turn down the brightness to almost half without seeing much of a difference.

I will report this problem to Pipo and see if they can fix it.

Have you tried flashing my 1.3 ROM? Does it have the same battery drain problem? You can flash just the 1.3 kernel on the already installed 1.4 ROM and see if it helps.

I discovered a new firmware version today. I'm hoping this will fix the battery drain problem.

                            Here is v1.5
