Unfortunately it didn't solve my specific problem (that may be related to my music streaming app, Wimp), but it didn't do any harm that I can see either, so it should be ok to include this fix in a new version of the ROM along with the GAPPS package and the Chrome crash fix.

I did the platform.xml change as described on this page:

Teclast yesterday released a new firmware for the P98 3G, but be aware that it's for the tablet ID 'A4HY' and not 'A3HY' which is printed on the back of my unit.
Maybe a firmware update for the 'A3HY' is right around the corner...

By the way, @grenness
I did what you told me to delete mediatek accesses appearing on the software "USBDeview" and re-installed drivers "USB VCOM." Then, when you connect the tablet, my senses as "Yunos ACB". With that, let me flash the tablet (I went back to stock ROM), but the tablet still does not detect me the "MTKDroidTools" software. So I still can not do without IMEI backup to install the CWM Recovery (for the procedure you provided me).
You know what you may need?
On the other hand, yesterday I sent an email to Teclast through the mail account "[email protected]" in which he requested information about the procedure to backup IMEI. So far, they have not answered me. To you they take long to answer?
Thank you

Teclast support responded pretty quick to me, like within 6 hours or so, but of course they are in China so right now (it's 15:30 in Western Europe as I write this) they are probably asleep...
I'm sorry that I can't help you with the IMEI thing, I didn't loose my IMEI number when I installed rriley's ROM, but I did take a 'backup' of it by just sending the IMEI number to myself via email.
If I would have lost it, then a quick google search reveals that there are several ways you can enter the IMEI back into an Android device, and I would think that one of these procedures would work on the Teclast.

That's a good find.
I've been working on this ROM a little today. Let us know about the cool little features that were added and see if they are worth addressing. My main focus is on getting Google Apps working.Randy

Downloading is slooow (I'm on 35/35 Mbps fibre, so it's probably slowing down while the top dogs in the great republic of China are scanning each bit and byte being sent out through the great firewall...)
I'm going to bed now, will see if I can upload and share from Google Drive tomorrow morning.
I'll probably try to install it too, especially interested in those 'performance modes', CPU tweaks and Sony Xloud mods.
But will have to wait until tomorrow night, since I use my P98 a lot at work these days.

Yes, I have link to the alternate ROM (thanks Grenness). I will try to find time to compare the two ROM's and gain some ideas on what I can change. But, unfortunately...I'm starting a 12 hour shift at the Emergency Room in a couple of hours and I don't have time to get started until tomorrow.
Grenness, if you have flashed this ROM, please tell me the most important fixes you've found. That way I have a plan as to what to look for.
Please understand that out of respect to the developer of this ROM, I can't/won't copy his work...but I plan to gain some knowledge from it and learn what he's done, so I can improve on my MTK ROM's. I likely won't be able to find every change that he's made...but that's OK.
BTW, Grenness...did you get contacts and email working properly?Randy
