    Another N101-1 ROM released in the wild

    Big thanks to Freaktab member Smokieg for letting me know about this.

    AussiePad released another ROM today. I have not flashed it yet but I did take it apart.
    The kernel is version #36 So looks like we have yet another kernel.
    Build.prop says:
    ro.build.display.id=rk30sdk-eng 4.0.4 IMM76D eng.root.20120821.211420 test-keys
    ro.build.version.incremental=eng.root.20120821.211 420

    Later I will flash this and see whats up and what it fixes, etc. Then possibly make a new rooted ROM with CWM for it.

    Here is what they say about it. Looks like the sdcard wake up thing is still an issue on this ROM. They do not say what is in this firmware as far as what it fixes. Odd to release a firmware and not describe what it is for and why?

    We didn't have time to add further customisations after receiving from software house so additionally you should
    change your language to English (Australia) and your Timezone.

    Settings -> English (Australia)
    Settings -> Date & Time -> select timezone for your area

    Known Issues/Workaround
    When an sdcard is inserted device can wakeup briefly during sleep.
    You can either set wifi to never sleep from Settings -> Wi-Fi -> top right the three vertical dots -> advanced -> Keep Wi-fi on during sleep -> Always if you wish to keep sdcard in during sleep. The battery drain is very very low for this anyway as scan interval is high.
    OR
    You can simply remove sdcard when you wish to sleep the device for extended period of time without wakes.
    OR
    Just power down, lets face it if you're not using the tablet for hours on end why leave it on anyway. Boot time is fast now anyway!!

    If using any of these methods, battery life should extend now to multiple days.

      Nothing odd for/if it was made in China. Probably. Guys simply did/added nothing, those from the wild... xcept for its poor description.

        Any news on this Bob? I'm liking the sounds of the battery life, though I have to say I'm pretty stoked with the battery life on finless 1.6

          This Rom has jumped to the top of the Yuandao firmware list on there site for the N101-1

          N101-4.04-20120908-

          So I presume it is a new Ics firmware but not Jellybean

              Ditto Bob I have been checking everyday. Soon hopefully it makes no sense not to update this tab to 4.1 as it is totally capable

                    Honestly I was hoping yuandao might have sorted out some of the issues themselves (I know I know, wishful thinking ). Are you working on a 1.7 rom?
