Finless 1.0 ROM -OR- Finless ROM "tweaker" for the Neo X8 stock ROM BETA 008

    Hello,

I have new Minix Neo X8. I am contemplating between installing between Finless 1.0 ROM and Finless ROM "tweaker" for the Neo X8 stock ROM BETA 008.

Any suggestions and inputs greatly appreciated. This will help me decide.

    Thanks!

If I may recommend a combination:
HardwareGuru's Beta 008-002 ROM and afterward the cpu_fix816.zip from Finless 1.0. For me it has been rock stable, snappy and most of the video apps I've thrown at it works: BBC iPlayer, Vevo, Netflix, 4OD. I've rooted mine with this

Actually, you could almost flash any X8 ROM, Beta or Custom, and one of Finless's CPU Fixes - it just makes the device perfectly stable from some reason

I'm unsure which version of the cpu_fix816.zip I'm supposed to use,
there is one in the directory of the original install zip as well as
a standalone package of the various cpu_fix???.zip's These
also seem to change the device for google play to samsung
      nexus device.

The one's in Finless's ROM package make a point of saying
they are ROM specific to his ROM? But they don't change the
      device type?

I couldn't get the Amlogic tool to work,
but recovery mode and the zip worked
perfectly. Maybe the microUSB port has
issues? I hope the real release of the firmware
is made s a zip and not just that img thing that
      doesn't work.

Take the individual ZIP file inside the folder, called cpu_fix816.zip, place it on an SD card and flash it using the 'Update&Backup' app on the device. In some cases it will not apply the ZIP automatically after rebooting into recovery. Use the menu and choose "apply update from external storage->apply update from SD Card->cpu_fix816.zip" and reboot afterward.
