[HELP] Please help me to identify my MK808B stick

Hey guys,

yesterday a mate of mine send me an MK808B (his words). Problem:
He flashed any unknown ROM. Right from this momenent on it was impossible to activate Bluetooth and Wifi.
Well. And now I am sitting here and ... tested round about 20 different ROMs (actually i am sitting here since 7am and now we have 1pm...). Some worked (e.g. the RikoMagic MK802 IIIs ROM Stock), some stuck on boot up (could see two linux penguins - hey tux) and nothing happend.

Well and now i am more than frustrated... I've allready read this thread:

But I've must have been missing something cause I've been unable to identify the right one... The third one on start post has a similar case (no copper coloured areas, etc.) but the antenna differs a lot...

I could identify following chipset:
Mediatek MT 5931SA
Mediatek MT 6622N

Thanks for your post.

I've tried it. First of all:

It booted. But wifi AND bluetooth couldn't be activated.



This morning I tried this one:

with this rom i've been able to activate wifi (and actually work with wifi...) Now when i flash this rom, it shows for a few seconds the Rikomagic logo and than stays on a black screen (not "NO SIGNAL / INPUT" - just a black screen - my tv notices me everytime after a few seconds if there isn't any input). So i am not able to reflash this rom...

Any ideas on this? I tested all "Stock" Roms i could find, fitting on the told chipset combination (RK3066 + MT5931SA + MT6622N) and even some custom roms. Some worked, some didn't. No one enabled me to activate Bluetooth or Wifi (just the one i mentioned in this post).

(Regarding to my router i caused round about 12GB traffic today and i only did researches and downloads for this stick... just to give a view on the work i spend on this...)

Hi Phinc,

thanks for your reply. Well. I've never seen this before (and i've got allready few of them here...) and yes... i've been really mad, because nothing worked.

I will download this rom and talk to my buddy if he wants to give it a try (i just send him his stick back the other day... - perfect timing ).

P.S.: What do you think -> normally i thought the rikomagic MK802IIIS B ROM should work flawless. Same chips etc... Or did I miss something and cant flash any rom even if the chips are identical?

Roms for other devices with the same chips are always a trial and error. It was reported that finless rom for imito mx 1/2 works on your device but without bluetooth. Others may not even boot.

I tried your mentioned distros in many versions - nothing worked. No wifi at all...

These Rikomagic ROM is the only one i got to work nearly properly... Well - nevertheless - i need to wait, what my mate is deciding.... But thanks a lot for your help!
