    Need help- K-R42 bricked

    Hi everybody,
    I have MK888B Bluetooth, RK3188 Cortex A9, MK888 K-R42 CS918 EKB311B2 device.
It was working OK for 6 months and then both USB ports stopped functioning. I could still use the device with the remote control. Then I pressed the reset button and connected it to the PC. PC could not recognize the device even with circuited 29th and 30th legs (which worked for me as I was able to change the firmware a couple of months ago). Now I have a brick as after the penguins appearance R-Box does not change to anything continuously. What can be done to resolve the issue?
Does CWN load before Android? Can I use it to unbrick the device?

    Fist I try to understand:
    1. No device like a keyboard, mouse or HDD works at the two normal USB ports (which are internal a USB-HUB-Chip which is maybe broken)?
    2. Also not at the OTG port?
    3. "circuited 29th and 30th legs" means the nand pins (normally 7 & 8 or 8 & 9) to get into the 'mask rom mode'?
    4. you had tried to short the 29 and 30 pin and now it will not boot up?

Thanks for the message. Here are answers to your questions.
      1. Nothing connected to two normal USB ports works. Hub chip could be broken.
      2. OTG is working as when I connect the PC to the device with OTG/USB cable the light in the device gets blue. I tried three different cables, though.
      3. Yes, I short circuited the 29th and 30th NAND pins to change the firmware and managed it.
      4. No, the device was working perfectly for two months after I had changed the firmware. 8 and 9 did not work as the nand is TOSHIBA.
Will CWN will work for a bricked device?

Sorry, I don't understand what CWN means? Do you mean CWM (ClockWorkMod) instead of stock recovery? I don't think it helps at this situation....

"... with OTG/USB cable the light in the device gets blue ..." is normal and I use it to auto start up (boot) my device... but if your devices didn't boot at this situation, maybe you have to do a 'mask rom mode' again to flash the device???

          EDIT:
Sorry, I forget that it boot up but only to the "... after the penguins appearance R-Box ..." BUT I don't know these boot screen and also I think you have to flash it again, but maybe via normal way (reset and rkbatch or rkandroid at PC via USB/OTG) BUT if I understand it correct, all these 3 cables doesn't help/work, then I think 'mask rom mode' ...
(BTW: OTG is a separate port direct at the SoC so it is independent of the other USB ports...)

The PC does not identify the device in any way. Somehow 'mask rom mode' does not work any more. I do the pins short circuit but the PC does not identify the device as it used to do.
Why does not CWM work in my situation?

              Is it already flashed?
              - if not, how do you want to flash it?
              - if yes, how do you want to enter it?

I thought CWM starts before Android. I could put "update.img" to my Micro SD card and start the device with this image.

Somehow I managed to change the firmware from the PC. Everything worked fine for some time including the USB ports but then the USB ports were gone. Now the device is working and I can install programs on it but the PC does not recognize. I could use CWM (from Arctools) but I can't enter the recovery mode as there are not plus and minus buttons. What is the way out in this situation?

Use the Petrus Reboot app that has options to allow you to boot into recovery, bootloader etc.
