    Tronsmart S89-H + Xfinity App = :(

First of all, I'm new and want to thank the posters and administrators for this forum, it's fantastic, and I am generally VERY weary of posting in online forums. So kudos to you all, it's a great service you're providing.

I'm struggling with one particular issue.

I fitted my S89-H with Leolas 1.1 rom, and then added Oman's XBMC, and have been doing great, but I have an Xfinity account with I'd like to use for Live TV.

After several installs I can't seem to get that app to work. Sometimes it loads the option for on-demand content, but then I get a "cannot display content from this device" message. I can't use the browser interface either, and I read in another forum to just use Wifi to enable live TV, but that didn't work. So I'm wondering if anyone can help me here, or point me in the right direction for trying to troubleshoot this issue.

    Thanks so much!

Some live tv apps wouldn't work if they detect a HDMI port...
Have you tried Xfinity at XBMC (Kodi)?

      Xfinity comcast?

I don’t think I have no_spam_for_me, Is Xfinity a repo, or is there a bridge to xfinity comcast through Kodi/XBMC?
Thanks for such a quick reply!

I don't know Xfinity, but at google I try to find out, what Xfinity is (but not really sure if I now know more because it seams so that it isn't only a content provider also an isp) and also see something about Xfinity and XBMC, so I search for both at google and found a lot of results...

And I know for other IP TV apps which have problems because of detecting HDMI port will work as a plug-in at XBMC... only an idea that maybe for Xfinity also exist a plug-in to view Xfinity IP TV content...

I can confirm that xfinity works great under xbmc, a quick guide to set it up here:

I think you're talking about Comcast Xfinity, a cable provider in the U.S. that also has an app with on-demand and live streaming.

I also have Xfinity. The app works on my S89 standard, but live TV isn't available on the S89. I'm not sure why. I can open it, but the app itself isn't the TVGo app I tried to download. It changes to Xfinity Player, which has the on-demand stuff, but no live TV.

Yes goldenrod, indeed I was talking about this app, and have run into the same problem with Live TV. I have discovered that the HDMI output of the device causes the no live tv error, but haven't found a fix. Still looking though.
              Thanks for the reply

Is there a list anywhere of which apps have this HDMI detection behaviour? I will be very disappointed if the services I want are unavailable because of this.

I'm not sure if it's the HDMI output causing it. The Xfinity app can be sideloaded on Fire TV, and live TV works on that with HDMI out. Maybe it's a DRM thing?

I have a similar live tv app from my cable provider. It has issues with root access. Luckily I found a modified version online that disables the root check and it's fine. Maybe you could look into that?

Interestingly, the R89 RK3288 device does allow live TV through the Xfinity app. But, the playback is pretty choppy.

waffleskater, what live tv app has worked for you? Is it Xfinity, and if so, might you have a link to that modified version? thanks!

Is this anywhere but given up? I'd love to get my Fios app working with this.
