    109k4108 test

I installed this new 109k4108 rom by downloading it and changing the name to "update.img" and placing it on my micoSD card. I rebooted my R89 box and after the reboot, it asked me if I wanted to update. It did the update and now it is running this new firmware. Everything that was there prior to the update, is still there.

I copied thehd_other_blue_ray_samsung_sound_demo_DD.m2ts to my external SD card and using the stock video player, I played this file. I did not have any sounds coming from my Harmon Kardon AVR347 receiver. Using the Syslog app, I created the log files and emailed them to Oman.

That is very good How To information. I will test that later today. With 108 i get perfect dolby on stock player but not on xbmc or spmc.

HI, To those who have any kinds of AV receiver :

Let's make it easy, and help me to figure out the last one key issue, many thanks!

1.I want to exclude factors of different version FW or some mistake of update process before,so update the latest test FW:

    Here is to download:update_R89_109k4108_test

Here is some instructions about how to update:

2.Log in Google Play and search Syslog and install it.

    3.Set up your test scenario:
Just test only one AC3 video, the one I uploaded before.
    Download here:hd_other_blue_ray_samsung_sound_demo_DD.m2ts

Playing the video from USB stick/HDD or NAS or SDcard by Video Player(the stock one),not from xbmc or mxplayer or else!!

Select Setting->Sound->Sound Devices Manager to HDMI Bitstream.

    4.After that,play the videos.If not sound out,or not 5.1 sound..run Syslog(here may ask root permissions,Grant it).Select the right options,and click 'Take Log'

And then write my email and send it!!

The only page that states a specific version is this review, which says it's 1.4a

The Receiver does support 3D, so that puts it somewhere between 1.4 and 1.4b, according to Wikipedia

So I'll go with 1.4a for the time being.

Would it help to collect the information about our AV Receivers in a Google Doc, or can we already narrow it down to a specific version that the R89 is struggling with?

    EDIT:

I went ahead and created a document. Maybe it can help oman to have all our configurations in one place, so please fill out your setup (and feel free to extend it with anything that might be helpful, I just added in the most obvious things without giving it much thought)

    Here's the doc:

    Thank you for you'v done

    I did OTA and update.zip
Receiver make and model: Sony STR-KS1200
