I did everything oman posted but the Androidtool just reports no device found.

I first thought that the USB (kable) is broken but it works fine on the OTG while in Android you click on connect to pc.

Hm...could it be that the button inside the AV-Out is broken ?

Is there another way to press the reset button...and why put it in the av-out ?

    thanks

Oman, I have tried numerous times, following your instructions, but can never get it to find my device. My RK3188 boxes have no problem at all. Even using your AndroidTool_Release_v2.3 my RK3188 box connects, but not this box. I am using the same male to male usb cable, but with your box, I have to use the usb to micro usb adapter that you had included in the box. I also tried another adapter that was for another RK3188 box for the otg port. Any ideas?

    thanks

    It's a little strange..

Next time I should really set a different log level. I only googled the very basics of grabbing a log through adb since it's been a year since I have done this the last time.

You have obviously seen all the exceptions caused by "com.mbx.settingsmbox" resp. "com.mbx.settingsmbox/com.mbx.settingsmbox.OobeActivity" (towards the end of the log).

I'm beginning to think I might get around the issue if I just delete/deactivate the app in settings. But that's not a real solution, of course (The real solution, of course, would be to wrap the whole app in a try/catch{} block. )

I hope you find the root of the issue. It's irritating that only my box seems to have this problem, yet it shows on a fresh install right through the flash tool. There's no way I could have broken something by changing settings/disabling apps/doing some root stuff.

I'll gladly try any crazy idea you might have and the box is always ready to flash In the meantime, I'm back to stock.

I have box connected to monitor with HDMI cable and got into recovery menu by powering on the box, depressing the reset button (inside the AV hole) then depressing the start button for about 10 seconds. Now the choices are:
    start system now
    update from external storage
    rkimage from external storage
    update from cache
    data/factory reset
    cache partiton
    recovery from system backup

what do I do now? I downloaded Oman's rom but have not installed it on micro sd card yet. Is this what I need to do? My card reader is not functional now, one will be here Thursday then I can copy Oman's rom to the micro sd card. Will that work?

    thanks

I have been trying for hours to get Android tool ver. 2.3 to find my device, but no luck. If I connect my rk3188 box, it says device found. I have followed your instructions, I connected the power and blue light is on. I pushed and held the micro switch (I can hear the click) inside the AV hole, then connected the micro usb adaptor that you supplied to the OTG port. I am thinking that perhaps it is a problem with the reset button (inside the AV hole). Perhaps you have more suggestions.

    thanks
