    Rooting device help

What is the easiest way to root my device? I have tried several times to plug my box to my pc with no luck, it just wont recognize it. I have tried framaroot and towelroot but neiher support this device.

does anyone know any other apps that you can root from cause as my pc wont recognize my box i cant do that method.

i have turned usb debugging etc so i dont think its something simple so a 1 click app would be great.

    thanks

I've had luck with RootGenius for Android KitKat (4.4.2) boxes, it's a 1-click root. It recognized my device whereas other apps did not.

If the device is running Android 4.2.2 I usually root it manually using the methods described in this thread:

"The thing with me is that I AM smart and I'm self smarted, basically from nature and smoking drugs and doing different things I've self learned myself. And that's the whole difference I guess is that I don't need the books or the schooling type things. You are sure that there is no unknown device at windows device-manager?
Sorry, I have no idea... maybe only: try another OTG cable...

I tried other cables too mate nothing in dm...

my only reason to root is so i can power off the device without having to unplug it...do u kno how i could do that without rooting? I dont really want new firmware and all the apps that can power off need root access.

Need root for that app too unfortunately

will constantly putting my device on standby and unplugging the power lead damage it?

soo annoying my pc dont recognize it!

At the past it runs almost 24/7 without any problem...
and if I want to power off it, I use something like this (also with all other Andoird boxes I own) also without any problem:

If you hold the power button on the device itself for 2-3 seconds it should show a dialog that will let you power off.

In the stock ROM I am using (update_07_30 on Q7) the LED turns from blue to red when it's powered off (ie doesn't go off completely). It's not standby mode though, since powering it back on goes through the complete booting process.

Also in some ROMS there is a power button icon on the status bar, if you click that it will ask to power off the device. But that may not be on your stock ROM, I have seen some that don't have it.

You are right to be concerned, my brother's Q7 had a corrupted internal SD because he unplugged it due to a frozen app. If it's truly unresponsive holding the power button for 10 seconds should power it off, hopefully without corrupting anything.

when i hold power button option is only reboot or standby even when i hold for 10secs, what i always do is put it in standby before unplugging it

                              Maybe something here?

As far as getting your device to be recognised by your PC, try different USB ports too and to test the ability to transfer files back and forth, turn on the connect to PC option in settings.
