    New EKB311B from Eny Technology, XT-Q7-V11 2014-07-14

    Hello,

Got a brand new RK3188 device with Android 4.4.2.
Unfortunately, I cannot switch to 1080p. It basically runs on 1280x720 and does upscale.

I have not found any current firmware for the XT-Q7-V11 board. What is the information you need to help me find the correct images?

    Thanks,

    Chris

    Hi Chris,

Have, got my box few days ago, have exactly the same board.
Also as yours only runs at 1289x720 and not able to switch.
It looks like Lan and Wifi are realtek.
It would be great I anyone can guide us which rom would be the best at least to get true 1080p.

Try these kernels for Q7 box on stock ROM(Test Kernels)

      Here is the stock ROM
http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...-2013-12-05%29 if kernels don't work on you want to flash back.

If someone can can one of the kernels working, I will make a custom ROM.

Eny Technologies releases very buggy firmware and inferior devices and I won't recommend anyone to get an ENY device. There was even a thread on Freaktab to warn people not to get ENY devices a couple of months ago.

@genek: yes, we have the same board :-)

@mo123: thank you for your reply. I tested all 4 Images, and no one of them made HDMI 1080p to work. Bluetooth was not working on any of the kernels.

Then I tried to run your update.img and the device does not work at all now. The Error message in RK Batch tool 1.7 is:
        <Layer 5-6> Prepare IDB Fail
        ********Restore Done Success<0> Fail<1> Tme<12792>ms*******

I guess there is a bigger chage between V10 and V11. genek, can you create an update.img from your working device for me?

Thanks for the fast response. My power switch was red all the time and I thought I bricked the device. Then I pressed the restore button and the "old" firmware Image was automatically installed again.

So, I still am on the same 720p :-(

If it helps somebody, this is my information:
            Kernel 3.0.36+ yangfeihu@xintu #2 Fri July 4 2014 09:40:07

Did you try Lewy's Rom for Q7, I am considering returning my device to amazon.

I tried all 4 of mo123 Q7 Roms on mediafire. None of them made 1080p and Bluetooth was not working. I cannot return my device to Amazon, because I bought it on aliexpress. I still have their insurance though.

Maybe the device is just too new for any newer firmwares. I have no idea, this is my first Androd tv box. I wait som more days and see if anybody else responds.

By the way, how did you find out the exact Chips on the device? I opened it, but the markings were very tiny and light.

I have used the magnifying glass as mentioned by you there are very tiny marks. Even pictures I have taken, could not read all details.

Did you try any kernels from this thread http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...8well-most!%29 the ones with our BT support?

Now I finished flashing all of your last link. It starts with GoogleTV and I see again the Switch to 1920x1080x60/50 but it stays again at 1280x720 :-( Most of Wifi/BT does not work, but I have a LAN cable and I'm not too worried about this. 720p is not really nice on a FullHD capable monitor/tv. I also changed cables with no luck.

Small success here: The wasser 1.0.4 firmware enabled 1080p !!!

Unfortunately, neither Wifi,Blueooth or USB RK-detection is working any more.
I cannot reflash the device and the power button is red all the time. Does not switch to blue, but powers on.

LAN network connection and USB Keyboard works. Playback with Wasser XMBC in 1080p is flawless.

                        Chris,

did you put new or old revision.
also does it mean that you are not able back to stock?

It was the new revision. The first link on the pinned 1.0.4 thread.
                          Correct, no going back now

one more question, did you use t-42 or k-42, because I think t-42 would be more suitable.

The very first one from here:

If I can enable USB detection again I will try the other one.
