can some one explain how to set permission /dev/am* M8 box

    can some one explain how to set permission /dev/am* M8 box

    i have set permission via terminal emulator chmod 777 /dev/am* , and then after reboot permission gone ,how can i set permission permanent in m8 box

    I take it you type:
    su
    chmod 777 /dev/am

    Why do you want 777 anyway? That file wants 666 (rw-rw-rw)

      i have set chmod 666 /dev/am* for android terminal. xbmc video working fine and then after reboot M8. The default mode looks like that rw-------.how can i set permanent permission rw-rw-rw

        I only have minix x8 as a reference but they handle a lot at init.rc and init.amlogic.rc (and maybe more)...
        So you must use something like 'Android.Image.Kitchen.v1.8' to strip the boot.img, edit the files and rebuild the boot.img (and also build a correct update.zip)...
        If the rom you use allow to handle init.d (ore something like this) use it with a script...

          Having the same problems as above running Finless 1.8 and XBMC downloaded from the website.

          Is there any way to automate setting the permissions? or even have a script I can run from a script manager?

            My init.d permission scripts if you want to try?
            Just download > unzip > read README > move files > reboot

            Init.d permission script for XBMC
