    Help identify my MK809III

Can someone help me identify this MK809III?

Also, I am a newbie. Can someone tell me if I can use the microUSB port as host? e.g. for flash drive or another mouse?

I noticed significant delay on my mouse pointer when the system is busy (accessing flash?). Even worse is that 30% of my keystrokes are missing through my USB keyboard. Is this normal?

Anyone? I am really trying to dive in to development and contribute to the community. But I will need some hand-holding in the mean time.

In the mean time, I think I figured out the USB slowness is due to the power supply. The included powersupply must lying about its 2A rating and the stick is struggling to power the wireless USB receiver. Changing the power supply fixes it.

      FWIW, the About device is:

      rk3188
      4.4.2
      Kernel version: 3.0.36+ root@ #34
      Build number: rk3188-eng 4.4.2 KOT49H eng.root.20140708.183130 test-keys
      Vendor software version: RK3188_R-BOX_ANDROID4.4.2-SDK

I have also backed up the stock ROM. As least I think I did, I have not tried flashing or restoring the backup yet.

I have flashed 3 images so far:

All of them boot to desktop but none of them have working Wi-Fi / BT.

What other image should I try?

(I realized I did not backup my bootloader (How to do?), but fortunately the Neomode 4.4.2 works for me)

          Hi,

my stick (shipped as UG007B) finally worked with this ROM:

found in reply # 39 here:

          Use at own risk.

It seems it is the KitKat / 4.4.2 version of the MTK ROM in the thread's 1st page. Did you tried the 4.2.2 version and it didn't work?

              Hi,

no, I didn't try the 4.2.2 version. I tried some 4.4 ROMs before and going backwards with the bootloader seems to be a bad idea

Then I think you got the MTK wireless chip while mine isn't. I'm still trying to figure out what mine is using.
