Need a clear answer for WiFi on MX1 with Mediatek MT5931 WiFi

Looking all over, I see some say it works but then it does not work I see drivers but no clear answer if it works or how to install them.

Does anyone know if the Mediatek MT5931 Wifi for the MX1 works with any Linux version? If I need a driver please let me know.

I am more of a Windows user and very little experience with Linux so if you have directions on how to install MT5931 drivers please let me know and if possible a clear step by step instructions would be helpful.

If the WiFi does not work then is there a USB WiFi dongle that will will work out of the box?

Does anyone know if a USB hub will work?

    Thank you

      How to Change Screen Resolution?

      HiĀ“
First i want to thank you for this excellent post, I was already for some time looking for something similar.
This gives me the opportunity play around with my mk808 and to learn Linux, as you can see with my question, which is:

How do I change the screen resolution? apparently is locked 1920x1080.

      Thank U

Note: Due to the low price of mk808 and its popularity, if we add a good version of ubuntu and adequately disclosed, may become a popular topic.

not 100% sure, but this might help: http://www.cnx-software.com/2013/11/...ware-in-linux/
            or this:
http://radxa.com/Rock/flash_the_image (scroll down past windows to linux).

Is it possible to give me a set of instructions on how I can install this on to NAND? I'm trying to convert over all my MK808s to linux and I don't want to buy a bunch of SD cards for 30+ devices. Is there a set of instructions I can follow? I don't mind a long and difficult learning process but I'm having a difficult time finding learning material on this matter.

Hey, this might help you to install it to the NAND: https://github.com/gripped/MK808-hea...d-3.0.8-rk3066

On this post somebody mentions that you can flash an IMG using Rockchip Batch Tool (http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...921#post267921), but I'm unsure if this would work with the Image from the current post.

Would be awesome to have this as a RKTools flashable IMG. To have the kernel and the whole filesystem ready and working and just to be flashed to NAND like an Android update

Hope there are still people interested in doing stuff like that with their MK808, having the Raspberry Pi doing the same (or better) with much less effort.

Wifi don't work, as I had expected. I use a MK808B and there are different ones with different Wifi hardware. I use an old picuntu and this works with an USB LAN Adapter. But your 14.04 Ubuntu don't work with the LAN adapter. iwconfig shows this:

                  yuza@ubuntu:~$ iwconfig
                  lo no wireless extensions.

                  sit0 no wireless extensions.

                  ip6tnl0 no wireless extensions.

Is there some solution for fixing this problem?
