rk3188 CS918 CYXTECH, cannot get vsync patched kernel to work

    Hi all,

I've been trying hard to get my rk3188 set up the way I want it to.

This particular task involved extracting the stock firmware(4.4), patching the kernel to fix the vsync problems.

I've successfully extracted and patched it, however when I use AndroidTool to flash the kernel, the box goes into a reboot loop with the android with the spinning box chest.

The strange this is that if I flash the unpatched kernel again the same behaviour continues.

    Any ideas?

(I've also tried to pack the kernel into a full image using imagepackrrk but that didnt work either)

Need more information on the board.

Also, any reason why you arn't using d33's kernels?

      This is my board:

This isn't a kernel problem, as if I flash stock kernel, then the boot loop still occurs.

Did you try Wasser KK 1.0.4 for CYX_CS918 V2_3? what were the results?

I think I did, but it took 10+ minutes to boot.

            Each time?

Might be easier to strip parts of the rom out to speed it up, as I'm unsure what could cause it randomly not work after a flash.

            Sounds like an awful board.

Yep, and randomly the ROM would go into recovery.

Why do you want to vsync patch a KitKat kernel?
It's only needed on Jellybean Kernels and not compatible with KitKat kernels, since they already use updated HDMI drivers.
