spec all sound the same but have to say no, are you able to take board pictures ?

There is now a New M8 that looks just like the Zoomtak T8 - am waiting to get a trial unit. Looking at specs of both I think they are the same.

They're not. T8 uses Realtek 8188eu wifi module while M8 uses broadcom (I think AP6330, don't have device) + BT.

Hi Stane - the new M8 that I am getting has Bluetooth v4. Will have it in about 3 days so will let you know. Not sure what WiFi chip is used

Firmware question

The reason i ask this to be totally honest ive bought andriod boxes off a company & there custom firmware is second to none, i got hold of a T8 before they started selling them. Ive been told the M8 & M8 Metal can yous the same software & also read that the T8 is just a premium version of the M8 Metal but same spec. Can anyone help as i dont want to flash & be left with paper weight

T8 is a Different Box ,Its Not Premium version of M8 Box ,You can't use M8 Fw !

New M8 in metal case

I just got one of these - just unpacked it - 1st impressons after visual inspection is WOW! Nice to be back with full size SD card & 4 USB ports - plus RCA for the S/PDIF.



Here is the latest firmware on Mega - maybe you experts can have a look & see if this is any different from other S802 boxes.

Will post again after I have powered it up etc

Talked to manufacture

Both use the same firmware only difference between the M8 & T8 is the M8 is dual wi-fi but the T8 is getting an upgrade at the end of the month to same spec

Did any ever check if this firmware is common to both boxes?
How would I load the new firmware onto the box?

The T8 & the new M8 in aluminium case are from different competing suppliers; and I have been told that the firmware is not same on both!
