    Root for Talk 9x

Got my new Cube ...all good, but I would like to just root it prior to doing a custom ROM.

I have tried Shuame/Root Genius and it did not take. Is there a link to something tried and sure that will work?

By the way ...this looks to be one fine tab. I have an idea for a short video I am going to do soon and post.

An easy way to get root would be to flash just the recovery from one of my ROMs, start the tab in recovery and flash one of the cwm based root packages.

Thanks, guys. I will give it a shot a bit later.

You know, I find this to be one of the least bloated tabs I have ever bought. It is the first I have found that I was actually able to delete one of the Chinese apps without it being rooted.

So other than having a super neat boot screen ...what might I see from one of the custom ROMs? The tab is plenty quick and stable. Would these attributes be better?

I am sure I will do the custom ROM soon anyway. Hate that boot screen!

As cube supplied my talk 9x I've left the boot logo and animations pretty much standard. They are easy to change though.

With a custom ROM you will get root, init.d support, cwm or twrp recovery and the option of adjusting the allocation of memory between apps and internal sdcard. Add into that the option of a few fixes (chrome, brightness etc).

            Looks easy ...

I see ..."extract, and place the update.zip at sdcard(internalSD)".

Now to find that internalSD. I plug in the 9x to the pc, turn on USB storage, open to vew files ...and I have a list. No sdcard. Or is what I am looking at the internal sd?

So I check on the tab through SD Maid. I find sdcard, but it is locked.

            What am I missing.

              Downloading the rom.

              Thanks ...

Try again later. I am getting a message...
The archive is either in unknown format or damaged

              Never had that before. ???

use your tablet download and extract file to your tab(do not insert any sd card or usb cable to your tab) ,
then follow the picture ,you can root your tab by your tab .

OK ..got it. Let me see if I can do the deed now.

                  OK ...finally got it ...BUT,
One has to move the entire rar over to the sd root, and extract it there. If you open it in downloads, it will only want to extract the update .zip if you try to move it. That won't work.

Thanks. Had to work for it, but now I am rooted.
