      Again me!!!
Bought a new one this night:
      16 GB / White
      Shop: efox-shop.com
      Price: 178€ / 230 US$
no custom because they ship it from germany

I sold it because I thought the UI is not smooth and fast enough. I saw a Nexus 10 device with Custom ROM Paranoid Android and this device was 2 years old but the UI was so smooth, just great. So I decided to sell my cube.

After a few other compares I find out, that the Cube is not that bad. I would say a Nexus 10 and 7 is subjectively still faster, but you can't beat the price with a comparable tablet.

Hopefully there will grow a bigger community for this tablet, which ensures further development for custom ROMS and other things. I would even say this is the most popular china tablet out of china. Many users speakin high terms of this tablet.

      I AM BACK!!!

remenber that Samsung devices you were talking about drive a less resolution display, that's why seems smoother...

Hey giouncino, I was talking about a nexus tablet and the resolution of a nexus 10 is 2560x1600. I guess it is a good device to compare. I know that many devices have just 1280, but that looks like crap and you get eye cancer.

In my opinion a resolution of 1920 would be the best solution. Then you get a crisp and sharp display without over exert the hardware.

I don't follow Samsung devices, I supposed you make comparison with a less resolution device.

Form my use, on a 9.7" device (4:3 ratio) 2048x1536 retina resolution is simply perfect.
That's why when I buy a new tablet the very first thing I look for is a 4:3 ratio with a retina resolution, then comes the rest!
I'm not interested on Full HD 16:9 ratio devices....

It is not mentioned often, but a 9.7" tablet actually has more screen area than a 10.1". The wider 10.1" is better for movies and games, I would imagine ....but for opening spreadsheets, pdfs and doing other business duties ...I find the 9.7" just about perfect. And yes ...games and movies are fine!

Apple must have a reason for sticking with the format.

                  It just arrived

But I'm away from home right now...

Hey ho. Anyway I paid $250 including delivery for 32GB Black including the standard case. No customs. Current prices is $264 for the same deal.

Took the supplier 10 days to post it, but only 4 days to get here from China. Pretty chuffin' good. Supplier is on Aliexpress... Desai Communications and Electronics.

I had ordered one from another supplier but Aliexpress cancelled and refunded the order when they decided the supplier was behaving fraudulently. If I'm really lucky this will be the cancelled one because the supplier really was honest and I will end up with buy-one-get-one-free. But probably not because that would mean the universe was on my side and I'm too paranoiac for that...

We can take a look at the chipset to compare them. The chipset in the Nexus 10 has 2 A15 cores, the Cube has 8 A7 core. 8 is fairly silly, it's a marketing gimmick. Cube and Nexus run at a similar clockspeed

A A15 is about twice as fast, clock for clock, than an A7. So for tasks that can only use 1 or 2 cores (that's most tasks), the Nexus will be much, much faster. I guess that's what makes it smooth. For tasks that can use 3 to 5 cores, the cube will catch up but probably still be slower because the scheduling is more difficult with more cores. In theory, the cube could be faster on tasks that scale well to 8 cores, but those tasks are vanishly rare.

The GPU is more equal. The GPU from the Nexus (4 unit t604] was supposed to be a superior replacement to the Mali 400, but in practice it was a tad disappointing. The Cube uses 4 units Mali 450, those are essentially overclocked Mali 400 units. The overclock compensates for the older design, so they are fairly equal in the end. Of course, the cube has less pixels to drive, so it should end up ahead in raw graphics power.

The nexus probably uses higher quality storage, perhaps the various IO controllers in the chipset are also faster. That should give it another speed bump.

All in all, you would expect a Nexus to be noticably more smooth for any activity that depends on the CPUs, but perhaps somewhat less fast in GPU-limited activities.

and all this should be evaluated in comparison with the prices of both tablets!

Nice to know and thanks for comparing. But why is the Antutu Banchmark for the Cube better than for a Nexus 10? Cube has roundabout 29.000 and Nexus 10 about 20.000 points

                          Just bought mine!!!!!!

Based on the good reviews on this site I bought one of these yesterday. In Australia yesterday **** had a 15% off sale. I bought the 32GB version for AUD$255 with free case from a local supplier. That is about $222.

I will be receiving this tablet late this Thursday/Friday. Can't wait.

don't trust too much on benchmarks, this doesn't give feedback on how a tablet works.
For example a pipo m6pro can have 21.000points on antutu, but have lags problem...

My cube from efox-shop arrived today
The first thing I did was installing supersport900's custom rom. Can't live without root

First impression: It's a great tab at a great price! Everything seems really smooth compared to my old PiPo M9 Pro.
Wifi is working fine, and the first gps fix was quite fast.

Even though many people report to have problems with efox-shop, this is my third order from them, and everything is good again.
