Turn Xperia Z1 into media PC

I have a Z1 with a dodgy motherboard, basically all functions work, 4G, wifi, OTG port, even screen output etc, except for touch screen function. Tried board in another Z1 and confirmed its defiantly a problem with the board. Air mouse via OTG works fine.

So what to do with this board now that its useless for a phone? I'm thinking Android media PC. I have a Minix X7 and the Z1 easily out performs that. The problems I see are, port limitations, it only has an OTG port and WIFI function, no lan, no HDMI, no HTPC specific firmware just ones made for phones.

HDMI is a possibility over the OTG port via MHL adapter so that shouldn't be too much of an issue but think this is limited to 720p.

Anyone got any thoughts on if this board could be used as an HTPC? anyone know any custom ROMS that would be better than the SONY rom for use a HTPC?

You definitely need a powered USB Hub for extra devices.

Samsung has a Smart Dock which it released for Note 2, apparently it works on a lot of devices, has HDMI out-put and 2 USB ports.
