Hi, guys! A good man sam321 found a way, how to burn firmware into this device (see this thread). Now let's find some good firmware for it. I'll start.

I tried two files:

1) cyxtech_rk31_809III_8089_140509_8G2G.rar Wifi works, but looks like bad internet stability. (I tested it for short time, because I thougt that video still not smooth. But later I found, that on "Hardware" option in MX player all videos are not smooth in different firmware. I did not test with "Software" option).

2) cyxtech_rk31_dongle_8089+6622_4.4_140402.rar Good wifi, good video (with "software" option) looks like all works, but picture is a little bigger than screen (about 10 pixels on each side).

Upd: Firmware #2 works completely good (but I didn't test BT). Screen scale can be set manually in settings.

I don't think there are any good ROMs out there for this stick, I think the only way forward is to make a custom ROM. I can get rid of the video problem without any trouble and I have already started on a custom ROM for it, mind you I could be wrong there could already be a good ROM out there for it

What are the improvements compared to the standard Rom?

rooted

extra drivers to support lan

Build.prop edit to open up the Google Play store to more APPs

as anybody got any suggestions that I can implement

I don't think a single 1080p rom exists however, really needs to be done as more of these horrible devices crop up.

Can get the CPU/GPU unlocked however with d33's kernel.

Just try) Maybe you can find any problems, but all looks to be good.

3: Build.prop edit to open up the Google Play store to more APPs
4 : added init.d support
5: Google Play and required Google APPs to the latest version

Sam321, it's just interesting, why some firmware have frame skipping in videos? Can you tell, what is the reason?

this one works great on mine! thanks so much.

only problem is its only giving me access to 1 gig of internal storage when i think it should be 2. is there a way to fix that to have more app room?
