Differences between K-R42, CS918, MK888, Jesurun ?

I got the hands on onfe of these devices. There is no label identifying the model. Googling the internet they all look the same. Are there any differences or are they all the same?

I wanna patch this kernel to have even better MKV playback. Any recommendations?

too many different pcb at the market to say which one is used...

Maybe you should think about an RK3288 (no need to optimize the kernel)
Beelink R89 / UBOX R89 or Tronsmart R28 (all use the same pcb)....
