Does anyone have ideas about M8N vs M8? Just wondering if I can use any custom firmwares for it?

New V1 PCB, Added few missing parts and a little altered PCB design plus new Remote Controller...

You don't need any custom rom, the M8N I have received has the fastest Rom I've ever used already installed, Stock Launcher is Lightining fast and xbmc 13.2 installed but Sadly Video Interlacing Problem is there same like all other Latest Roms (custom/stock) available at Forums...

Wow! Good to know it is fast stock ROM! It does Hotplug mode, not interactive nor performance, right? When I run the XBMC and monitor CPU performance! I'm noticed that only 2 CPUs are active instead of 4? Any ideas?



Since the Remote Controller is changed! Do you or anyone knows what is Compatible ROM for this M8N, in case I want flash a custom ROM for it!

If you are gonna use Older FW with new Remote ;

HOME=Volume UP
MENU=Volume DOWN
Blue Vol+=Home
Red-Green-Yellow no functions

Rest of the keys has the same funtions...

I haven't got both stock or %100 compatible rom but you can get remote.conf from the m8N install any rom you want and copy that remote.conf back to your box... in this case Settings and APP keys are not gonna work...

I have already tested Stains Android Rom its same like M8 ... Works fantastic but Wake up from Standby = Freeze

I installed in on my M8 and it said my model number was M8N after installation in about MediaBox.

Everything thing worked on my older M8 the only bug for was the Ethernet would turn itself off especially after sleep.

Thank you very much. I did find this release and tried it. Very quick all round but - as you say - it keeps dropping LAN and WIFI connections, which also don't survive every power-off. Frustrating, because the firmware is really snappy...

I think I made a mistake to order this M8N model instead of M8! M8 is what I really want, since I spent last 2 weeks to verify the M8 to work with existing Custom Firmware here (old Remote), in order to get "Best working" with Kodi XBMC and ran good on PVR Client application!

I like the way you advise using the Old ROM then copy the remote.conf as a workaround in the moment! Will see!

Just wondering, is it so new or not many units sold in the market? Same as MXQ, I could not get it to work properly, due to the LAN auto turning off in every 30 Minutes! Still wait for the new firmware for it but lack of support! It is now unusable, I think! Any thoughts?

Anyway, to the ROM developers: I look forward to your new ROM development for M8N, which can be used full functionality of new Remote controller! I will donate for your great works! Sorry if I ask too much! Any ideas?

I found that we can get MX2's or MXQ's Remote Control from Amazon for 5 bucks, somethings like this for example!

I was a big fan of the old remote due to its unique design but now New one feels better hence its a little wider and IR LED location is much better compare to the old one on top of these you can control your TV set !
