Need stock ROM MK809III; can't revert

I followed finless's instructions to back-up my ROM, and saved all the .img files. Then I flashed smic717394_809III_1080p_V4.4.02_ROM V4

However, it's horribly laggy, even though I supposedly have quad core. It's an MK809III RK3188 with a wifi chip of AP6210 that I bought from geekbuying.com for $50. So I thought I would try and revert back to the stock ROM.

I used the flasher tool from finless (1.37) as well as the one given in the smic717394_809III_1080p_V4.4.02_ROM V4 folder, but neither will work. When I get to "Writing data to flash," it writes until it gets to the end of the size, then goes to "Start to check download data," then "ERROR:download file failed," then "Error:Run failed."

    I have the following files that I backed-up originally: backup.img, boot.img, kernel.img, misc.img, recovery.img, system.img

I am guessing that I need the parameter file? I never saved it. It wasn't specified in finless's, instructions. When I was dumping the ROM, I hadn't even tried flashing yet (I was brand spanking new to all this) because I wanted a back-up before I did anything. So I didn't know about the parameter file. While dumping, it just writes right over your output file, so it wrote over the parameter output. It wasn't specified to change the name and keep it, so it got written over and I didn't think anything of it.

If that is my problem, does anybody have a complete back-up stock ROM for my TV stick?

I decided to install Neomode's custom ROM: http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...4-4-2-*Update*

It works great so far. No lags. The only issue I came across is that the ROM didn't have a keyboard pre-installed. So I couldn't even sign in to Google Play to download a keyboard, nor search for one on Chrome. So I edited my most recent post on my laptop with a link to a Google Keyboard .apk.

When I opened Chrome on the TV stick, freaktab would load. So I saw my most recent thread on the side, clicked on that, then clicked on the link that I had added with my laptop. I downloaded the .apk, opened in in FX file manager (it would not open from Downloads), and installed the keyboard. All is well.

My only complaint so far is that, like the other ROM, while using XMBC there is a significant lag between when I press a key on my keyboard and it shows up on the screen (like, 5-10 seconds). Other times it works fine, and other times it will randomly stop responding. Not sure where the problem lies.

Oh, and for the life of me, and I've brought this up before, I CANNOT find the "menu" button. For example, if I search for something in XBMC, I can't add something to favourites. On my computer, I can right click, on my phone and I can long tap, but I can't figure it out on here. I have tried right clicking my wireless mouse, I have tried long left clicking; nothing works. I don't understand.

If anybody has the stock ROM, I would still like that as a back-up.

Regarding the keyboard lack. I have that problem when I used the stock P/S. I found another 2A power supply and the lack went away.

Also, BT mouse shows no lack. So I assume BT keyboard would be fine too.

I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about. Are you talking about my problem where the keyboard would not respond very well when using XBMC? Also, do you mean the power supply cord? Or the thing that converts USB into the wall plug? Or both? How would that help it while using XBMC?

If you mean the fact that the ROM had no keyboard installed, I don't see how another power supply would help...

Okay, I meant to say keyboard "lag" but typed "lack". My keyboard is slow and missing keystokes when using the stock P/S.
