HELP ALL - 3288 Forum Organization

Hi folks, since the 3288 boxes are now coming out fast and furious I would like to organize the 3288 sub-forums this time to not make the mess like the 3188 forums have.

That is, rather than make sub-forums for re-branded boxes, make the sub-forums for the original manufacturer of the boards (not the boxes).

Yes I know the Beelink and Tronsmart I have already started this and I am leaving it that way for a reason I wont go into. But I don't want to perpetuate this again like the 3188 forums.

Understand that having sub-forums for every "brand" is more confusing because a good ROM maybe in one but the board is the same in another and information is not being posted in the other. Hope you get my drift? If later generic ROMs are made that work across many BOARD manufacturers, these will go in the main forum under 3288.

It would be far better to have a forum name like:
Ugoos Devices - box name, box name, box name, etc Where after the manufacturer we list the boxes using that board.

BUT I NEED YOUR HELP!
I cannot keep up with or know who the board makers are vs the models!
Now is the time to get it right.

So please help me out to keep this place better organized this time by letting me know.

This is what I do know so far as to the real makers of boards:

Beelink (Nexeon)
ENY
Ugoos
Minix
Rikomagic? (not sure).

Have a look at 'my' thread http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...e-Overview-BOX and I think the best way will be to use 'as most as possible' brand-names at sub-forum-name for the same pcb (we now don't know which brands will follow) because I don't think the customers know about pcb factory names (me too at some pcb as you can see at 'my' thread )...
Maybe at the sub-forums should also be ONE thread only for pcb-versions and brands...

Thinking back to what happened with the K-R42/T-R42 models, where so many pcb's were being shipped in the same boxes but still advertised with the same name(s), might it also help for the future, where pcb board revision may become more common, that all ROM's produced also have a reference to the specific pcb revision that any particular ROM will suit, as from seeing so many requests that say 'will this ROM work with my box', where pcb inspection and identification is required in order to advise, having a way of identifying a suitable ROM would, in my opinion, be easier this way.

I believe that Bluetimes (Shenzhen BlueTimes Technology Co., Ltd.) is a manufacturer of their own boxes and they also produce OEM boxes for others. This is shown on their Alliexpress listings and when I researched the company before I purchased from them.

From the Aliexpress listing for the QPro (the spelling mistakes are their's:

Some ones are making their own boards and at same time also rebranding anothers.


Also some sub-forums are there and they are not "design houses", this is not fair with everybody.

Tronsmart boards are made by Netxeon and anothers. Rikomagic has never designed a board by theirself, Bluetimes maybe made their boards BEFORE Android generation based in Realtek, but now? I'm curious about ENY, I have been in their office several times (last visit has been some months ago) and they just sold unbranded products from anothers. So quiclky to set-up a design house?


This also causes the design houses to launch their brands by taking advantage of the work, money and knowledge of its customers cheating them (I prefer do not speak deep about this... ).

Just my oppinion, if want to organize the subforums "by boards", the actual sub-forums of some brands must be moved to inside of those sub-forums. Otherwise that is not fair and some ones will not have same opportunities as well as final users must be confused thinking those brands are doing more than they really do.

I also think bluetimes has been a board designer before. I think same from Measy, but now both keep selling boards from anothers.

I bought from Bluetimes around 2 years ago, I never have been there.

Also remember this, you never can believe an Alibaba description, even you go to visit them still can take you to the real factory and cheat you by saying it's their factory (but it's not).

I know a lot of people in China, a big part have wanderful and big (thousands of sq. meters) factories in the pictures. Here you can not believe anybody.

Same pcba as listed for several other brands. Still, we know Bluetimes is a proper factory. Certainly not a clone.

What I've noticed is forums are [were] organized according to which brands assign commercial reps to the forums. At least that's what the early RK3288 forum organization was about. Devices out of testing and in production were stuffed in 'other' while devices still in testing received prominent placing.

Seemed counterintuitive but I can see how it played out that way as an early hierarchy. For now, I think things are fine.

Time has shown the devices that were in testing largely still are, and the devices many claimed were rushed have arguably the same performance, if not better, than the ones still mired in testing.

I don't think the forums should be aligned for 'fairness'. I think they should be aligned for maximum visibility and pertinence, and not focused on creating parity between all brands, and clones, and revisions, and rebrands, and on and on.

Keep it simple.

I already said in my first post that I know this issue but it is staying that way for reasons I wont go into THIS TIME..... It started out that way and now I don't want to upset be changing it. But I don't want to perpetuate this.

So Javametal, other then the Tronsmart forum, your saying Rikomagic is not a manufacturer? I guess the MK902II should then be moved into the Bluetimes forum since they are using that board?

I have no idea, but at the CX-998 pcb Sunchip was the first (Apri 2014) showing this pcb but I don't know if Sunchip is a Design House...
BTW: The ENY board also doesn't seams to be designed by eny...

I live in China (Shenzhen), most of them are here.


But the market is not easy, you can find clones in there and they are also design houses, sometimes we don't know who made a model before.

Also sometimes you can find a board designed by "X" company, but produced by "Y" and assembled by "Z".


"CX" also can be http://www.cyxtech.com/ they usually clone devices
