I spent a few hours trying to get the MAC changed on my PMID701i just so I could answer this question for you, but in the end I was unsuccessful. I'll give you what I was able to figure out in hopes of being some help.

First, it appears that full root is required. Second, a temporary MAC change appears to be possible with a "su busybox ifconfig wlan0 hw ether xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx" command, but I was unable to make it work.

Best of luck to you. If you get it working, I'm interested in hearing how I've gone wrong. Also, I second the question "Why do you need to spoof your MAC?"
