UT3 RECEIVED .. NOT HAPPY

Just check in XBMC and the max resolution is set at 1920x1080 and it is fixed cannot be changed.
I thought this box could do 4k ?
My tv is only 1920x1080 at the moment, but the UT3 should do better for the future.

Its XBMC that can not do the higher resolution, in ut3 menu is the option for higher res.
But like an idiot i changed to higher resolution and now cannot see the screen lol.
The reset button does not do anything, will have a look round for a solution.

Thanks but i can not reload the firmware as the ut3 will not connect to my laptop.
I have installed the drivers and used the supplied usb lead into both usb sockets and the usbtogo socket to no avail.
I just need to do a factory reset, i have tried everything , pressed reset buton in, power up. and lots of other combinations with the reset button pressed in.
I have contacted ugoos via email but they dont reply.
This may be my last ugoos box

And this is precisely why 99% of ROMs currently shipping with RK3288 devices only allow you to select resolutions supported by your TV according to the HDMI sink. Ugoos, which is notorious for buggy firmware, should have never shipped boxes with such a volatile setting available to end users.

The kernel in recovery does not care what settings were done in the OS.
But you may have a point. How to get into recovery or use the update.zip update dialogs.

But his main problem seems he cannot connect to the box with his PC.
Possibly bad USB cable, drivers not correctly installed (some windows 8.1 folks cant get it to work either), etc. I doubt the box is the problem here. It's pretty rare to not be able to use the flash tool from the box design. So again bad cable or busted OTG port.

I cannot believe i set the resolution to the highest setting, just curious i guess.
I have not ticked the usb sync on the box hence why my laptop does not see it when connect to it to OTG socket or the usb sockets.
There has to be a way round this somehow.

I need someone with the same box to get into the display setting on the UT3, via many presses of the remote.. i just need the sequence.

That is NOT your fault. Settings as volatile as the one that caused you to lose picture should not be exposed to end users. This is exactly what happens when they are. Most firmwares don't allow this, and with good cause.

Most firmware only shows you options for the resolutions your tv can accept.

edit: that's the same exact firmware as the nagrace boxes so wait for it ... there'll likely be a nagrace user or two that'll post with the same problem eventually. Might be a good idea to make a custom ROM with at least the fix up of that options dialog to prevent this.

The reset hole does not reset the box.
Buy holding the reset hole and pugging in the power, it puts the box into flash mode.

1) USB cable hooked to OTG port on box and connected to PC
2) Power cable unplugged
3) Press in reset hole and you should feel the button "click". Hold that button.
4) Plug in power while continue to hold the reset button.
5) Windows should BONG that it found a device. If drivers were installed correctly it should work. If not Windows will say installing new hardware.

Do you get to this point where windows sees the device when you do the above steps.

I have installed the drivers though .. not sure why that is happening ?
Windows 7 64 bit laptop.

Bob i copied and pasted the drives into windows folder.
I can now see the ut3 in windows.
I have opened android assistant and it says found one loader device.
Then i loaded the ut3 firmware into it and it just freezes, nothing in the firmware boxes or anything.

...some of the boxes behave differently, so try powering the device on and then holding the reset button for four seconds while it's still on and then check to see if it went into bootloader (tool will say found device in loader mode)

I have just installed your Finless rom 1.0 and all went well, no errors at all.
It seems that the HPH and UT3 are the same apart from the remote control functions.
Not all the functions of the remote work now on my UT3 with your HPH Finless rom installed.
So i cannot work the UT3 fully.
So i guess i am the first person to try your Finless rom on the UT3 box
Any way to sort the remote control commands out ?
Its mainly the OK button that does not work.

Try the Beelink 3288 108K4 firmware. It works on my HPH so if the UT3 my 1.0 ROM works then it looks all cross compatible.

If remote still doesn't work then I will have to take apart the Ut3 firmware and pull out the remote control files.

But also know that depending on the remote and how it was implemented to begin with, sometimes not all the buttons do anything.
