    Buying Pipo P1?

    hi.

I recently bricked my Onda v975M so I'm on the verge of buying a new tablet.

Is buying the P1 a good choice?
I had a Pipo before, the 9 Pro.

You can unbrick the 975m. You have to open it up and short the band then redo the firmware. The pipo p1. Is very solid

I disagree about the solidity of P1....
A tablet that cannot be used till a complete discharge is not so solid in my opinion...
And keep in mind that the P1 is kept togheter with tape (solidity???)

If you want a Pipo tablet probably the P9 has a more stable FW.

Hello. I have been very satisfied with my p1. I did not have to discharge it for full battery. It works well no hangs not reboots no issues. I have several other tablets and I use the p1 all the time

Did you see any app that stopped working? Many users reperted such errors.
They reported also overheating issues and battery drain during standby (common to many Pipo devices), problem with stability at 1.6ghz, someone increases stability by locking maximum frequency to 1.4ghz.
I'm not saying that p1 is a bad tablet! But has some issue as many chinese devices...

                Hello,

I have not had any apps stop working. I use it every night for about 3 hours. Youtube, web searching, email, ebook reading, and some gaming.

                    I beg to differ...hahaha!!!!!!

I also have not had a single problem with my P1 (or my P9, for that matter). I've reported my positive results...maybe one or two places here on Freaktab.

Giouncino, I realize you're a bit bitter about your experience with your M6 Pro...but Pipo still produces a fine tablet, in my opinion. That deep sleep issue has always been a thorn in the side of many, who consider it a "must have" feature. Other than that, my M6 Pro still rocks on...with my ROM and stock kernel.

I'm glad you are enjoying your Cube...they are rock solid devices, too. But no sense in perpetuating a crusade against Pipo. To each his own.

Don't understand bad, it's not a crusade, it's just to open the eyes and see what are doing other chinese brands!
I think you don't have comparison with different chinese brand, so you think Pipo it's fine but they are not so good as you think, try to buy a teclast x98 air 3g or a cube talk 9x just to make a comparison in build quality and performance too.
I think you're stick on a Chinese quality of 1 year ago, one year ago there were no better products than pipo tablets, now other brands are improved so much, and Pipo remains really behind, they only update they did is the SoC, but about the remaining parts, they continue to use tape to keep the tablet togheter and hand soldering for the antenna (losing dB), and if someone ask for a suggestion, I cannot say that a Pipo device is the one to buy!

In this specific topic I reported ONLY the feedback I've read here on freaktab and on Pipo Italian community (where I am an administrator). No crusade at all!

Other than that, a friend of mine has a Pipo m6pro that stopped working, I asked Anna Ye how to send it back for a warranty repair, She said how to send it back but ONLY if they receive the tablet without custom duties, otherwise Pipo wiould refuse the package...
Probably this is common to other brands, but it's a shame that a company refuse to repair a product if there is dutyes not dependant by customers!!!!

If I hurt someone of you, it was not my intention, so I'm sorry for this!

                        Hello,

I have several other tablets from ONDA and comparing the two tablets, I find the PIPO a more solid feeling tablet, as well as the functionality. I have the M6Pro as well, and do not have issues on either PIPO tablet. My ONDA tablet has no issues as well, maybe I'm lucky :-)

From my experience, I'm very happy with the PIPO P1.

                        Regards,

                        Brian

When I compare my M6 Pro with my Onda 871 it's a whole different ballgame.. the Onda is way after in quality etc. And I have a nexus 7 next to my Pro and don't see the difference in day to day usage. The M6 Pro is solid and VERY good value for the money.. the only thing that I don't like is the Micro-lagging (sometimes) when browsing heavy web-pages.. I'm gonna sell my M6 Pro btw and already have a P1 in the mail arriving tomorrow or the day after.

As I told before, one year ago Pipo was the best chinese tablet brand on the market, today the story is different.
On my comparisons I never included onda tablets, known for his awful quality (at least about firmwares), I'm comparing Pipo now with teclast and cube tablets, and in this case, Pipo is far behind them in build quality: both teclast and cube have introduced unibody design, internally they are NOT hand soldered (this is why each pipo tablet make its own story!!!), both have IGZO displays and both have very stable firmwares, and both have good battery life with reasonable weights!

I think that now the best tablets in the market with a 9,7" screen are:

Teclast x98 air 3G II (with a very fast SoC and possibility to install windows 8.1))
Cube talk 9x (good performance, outstanding battery life and build quality)
Teclast t98 (with the fast allwinner a80)
Teclast p98 (similar to the cube talk 9x)
Pipo p1 is fast, but it's heavy, doesn't have IGZO display, has a terrible 3g performance and some users experienced bad issues!
I would like to see new product line from pipo with unibody design, NO hand soldered parts and a 3rd party 3g module (and a reliable deep sleep function too), if this will not be in pipo programs I think they will stay behind the competitors as unfortunately they are today.

I agree that some of those tablets u suggest are really good. BUT I want mini-hdmi AND a big battery.. with my M6 Pro I have a lot of times traveled Stockholm - New York or Stockholm - Florida without having to worry about the battery running out (watching movies, reading, listening to music etc) so it's all what you need. And one very big plus is the good Community for Pipo-tablets with modded roms!
