    MXIII XBMC Video off-centered

    Hi,
I bought an MXIII Android TV box and run the stock XBMC. I installed Mash Up, xfinity and Icefilms and hooked up to a Sony Full HD TV. When I run a HD movie, it appeared that the movie was SD and the video was off-centered under Normal view. When I switched to Original Size, the video became small, as in the picture below.

I tried to adjust the Video Calibration but the result was the same.

When I went to the Video Output Settings, the Video Mode was greyed and could not be changed.

And is my setting for the Video Playback below correct?

The thing is, when I played videos from the YouTube App or the Video Player App on this MXIII, the video was perfect. I suspect that there is something wrong with the XBMC on this machine.

    Can someone help?

    Thanks in advance.

    Additional Info and Questions

Btw, my MXIII is 1G/8G only.

How do I delete the stock XBMC app on this machine and replace it with the Gotham? I've downloaded Gotham but could not install it.

    Thanks.

        Thank you no_spam,
But I'm not so good with hacking things . Does this problem happen to my MXIII only? Anybody with MXIII has the same problem? How do you solve it?

If I have to, then may be I should go on with your suggestion. Is the thing up there capable of damaging my MXIII?
How do I install the above apk on my MXIII? I am really in need of help here since this is my first experience with a TV box.

        Thanks for any help.

more video problems with MXIII and xbmc

            Hello
            I just purchased the MXIII
I am using the composite video out
although i can get the screen perfect in the system menu
when i watch XBMC (Gotham 13.2 and i installed Kodi 14 they both do this
the picture will be 35 times bigger than the screen
i have tried adjusting evrything in xbmc and kodi to no avail
then by accident i went back to the system menu and played with the master screen size
by changing a couple of numbers and i went back and started a movie and it was OK!!!!
then i started another movie and it was screwed up again
what I had determined after playing with it for several hours
if i do a calibration in kodi the screen will enlarge ...35 times bigger nothing will fix it except going back to the system menu entering the master screen size changing it by a few numbers then going back to XBMC and now the movie fits the screen if i try to trim it as soon as i enter the video trim in kodi wether it be the zoom aspect ratio video calibration the picture goes bonkers again so it is really hard to adjust it becuase i cant really see what i did untill i go back to the system menu and play the master adjustment again then jump back to kodi and the screen is right once again
I just bought the box its Keedox MXIII anybody have any ideas what the heck is going on ?? My 63 inch tv is not HD so im using composite video which is just fine for me .... is this releated to the video problem you guys were having?

            Thanks for any help
            Tony

If anyone wonders recent Kodi 14.1 bugfixed that "zoom" effect when using amcodec. Unfortunately there is bug when resuming playback after pause - only audio plays. To get video back you need to Fast Forward a bit. Still better to use SPMC or Oman's one.

I had the same prob with my m8n box. If yours has a setting (setting is in main settings, not inside xbmc) for hdmi output mode setting you have to switch it from hdmi auto detection and manually choose 1080p-60hz. Fixed the issue with mine, hope it helps with yours.

Solved the issue!! Change the Acceleration from Hardware to Software in XBMC and very important!!! REBOOT!!

now have complete control of screen size in all modes that stay as I set them
