It's a done deal! On their FAQ it says:-

    QUOTE
A: We’re very pleased to announce rom developer Finless Bob has agreed to let us use his roms on the box, for those of you familiar with his work you’ll know this is great news as he’s a very talented individual and doesn’t like to release anything with any bugs – he is well respected in the community and a member of the team at www.freaktab.com (probably the most popular Android Rom site). Currently we’re shipping with firmware from China and they are helping to iron out any existing bugs but the finless rom will be flashed on units as and when it becomes available. So far we’ve found an issue where if the unit is connected to a TV only capable of 720p and not 1080 then there is a playback issue but disabling hardware acceleration seems to fix this, however the problem is already being addressed.

Yes they asked and I told them they could use my ROM. Better than just taking it and not saying anything like some do.

        Bob
"Pzebacz im, bo nie wiedzą, co czynią"
"Прости им, они не ведают, что творят"
"Perdona loro perché non sanno quello che fanno"
"Vergib ihnen, denn sie wissen nicht, was sie tun"
"Vergeef hen want ze weten niet wat ze doen"
"Pardonne-leur car ils ne savent pas ce qu'ils font"
"Perdónalos porque no saben que lo que hacen"
"Oprosti im, jer ne znaju što čine"
"Forgive them as they know not what they do"

That's great that they at least asked unlike some people like Droidsticks that use your rom without thanks then threatening people to take legal action for using their wizard lol.

@JustMe This is a beautiful piece of work, thank you

I've just been testing on our Total Revolution Mk1 (S802 from Venz factory in China) and it's the best rom I've found on any android device; the launcher, the simplicity, the great video and audio playback - love everything about it. Ok I'm not so sure about the cat but other than that I love it lol.

Obviously the Wi-Fi and supplied remote that comes with our unit doesn't work (as expected) but everything else appears to be working flawlessly. I've already been in contact with Bob regarding creating a community rom for this unit but maybe he can work off this or maybe you might be interested in helping out too? If you want to know more about the project you can find details here. Hope it's ok to post that link guys, if not feel free to delete.

To all you rom devs: Keep up the amazing work you're doing, it really is appreciated
This was addressed yesterday and there were thumbs up from bob

also keep in mind its 2.4ghz and 1gb ram

Just to clarify this is only 2.4ghz (RT8188ETV) but it's actually 2gb RAM.

I see that TotalXbmc have branched out and have 'community builds' that are other peoples Xbmc builds that you can add to a new installation and have most of the work done for you.

Yes we introduced this back in December in the hope it will show users just what can be done with XBMC. Seems to be working very well and lots more people are getting involved plus it offers a simple solution for the not so tech savvy users . You can see the community builds section at http://totalxbmc.tv/communitybuilds

If you're using internet explorer it's not working properly as I've been editing the code but should be working on IE over the weekend. All the builds are downloaded and installed via the addon in XBMC/Kodi
