    Seems I've fried it.

Well, I'm an idiot. I moved and forgot I had multiple different voltage/amperage things that use the same barrel jack, grabbed one and stupidly didn't check. Ended up plugging in a 12v/2a adapter from a hard drive instead of the 5v/3a one that's supposed to be used, now it won't power on at all. Is there any chance this is something fixable?

    I don't think so...
(at the minix x8 there is a fuse, but at the round ones I don't know any fuse (anyway maybe doesn't help at 12V)...)

I was afraid of that. You think there's any chance "user was a complete idiot" is one of the things covered under the warranty?

well maybe if you just returned it ( before creating this topic that is!) saying "it just stopped" you might have had a chance... but unfortunately now your chances are slim (especially if u brougth through geekbuying as they frequent this site lol )...

Pop the lid off and have a look for a fuse maybe...

Eh, I'm not much for warranty fraud anyway, did that once several years ago and still feel horrible about it. I did indeed get it from Geekbuying (through their Amazon storefront, not the standalone site). I'll go ahead and contact them on the one in a thousand shot this is actually covered before I crack it open. In the likely event it isn't covered I'll see if I can figure it out, and if I can't but it is fixable I guess I'll either see if I can pay someone to fix it (if not cost prohibitive) or sell it to someone who can to somewhat lessen the costs of getting a new one.

Update for anyone who cares, I got in contact and they agreed to replace it for a fee, just got the replacement and am about to load Finless's latest up. The fee was a better rate than I was expecting if I had gone the sell it/pay someone to fix it route. Excellent customer service and I'll definitely be recommending GB if a relevant conversation comes up.
