    Open the box

Is it just the HDMI out that has fallen off, do you get a picture from the AV jack source of the box ?

If you can get a picture from the AV jack source go into you android settings and reset the unit. This may clear up your problem and unglitch it.

Have you opened the box to see what kind of board is in it ?

Reason I ask is you can learn alot from a mainboard number. Does the vendor / manufacturer have a support website ?

You say you tried the toothpick method to boot from recovery,... just to be clear you unplugged it pushed a toothpick through the AV jack and (felt a button at the back of the jack) kept it held in and then plugged the power cable in and waited at least 10-20 seconds before releasing the toothpick right ?

If this got you nowhere you may need a firmware flash from SD card or USB method if your box has the capability of doing that.

    I would recommend the following:
    1) look at the manufacturers support website as they may have a posted firmware flash method from SD that may unglitch it.
    2) If no procedure exists and you cannot find any flashing methods to try an unglitch it you will have to venture into the belly of the beast.
    3) Pop the top off the unit and look at the main board stamping to see exactly what your working with. There may exist a way to jumper 2 memory IC pins on the board to force a reset but it can be tricky to perform. Knowing what kind of board you have may help you search out firmware flash or recovery mode methods on android development forums.

This is how I would attack the problem. Hope that helps.

P.S. Was the box running factory firware at the time it glitched up ? Has it been rooted and running a custom ROM ? How did you come to find that it was messed up ? Did you just turn it on and POOF ! ,... no HDMI output ?

Why no name on the board? You have a g-box midnight compatible pcb... "HD18 V2.21"

Are you sure that this box works with Android?
I found one link and that guy seems to talk about a Linux version:

But I also found one link about the M3 (not MX)

If it is the M3 you should have a look at
