    WIFI problem?

I tried connecting a new PTAB7XC to a few different free hotspots, and with a couple bars signal strength, it either wouldn't connect, or would go back and forth every couple seconds between being connected and not connected. Is this normal for these or is this tab bad?

    bad wifi chip

I am guessing your wifi processor is bad. I am also having wifi issues on ptab7xc, but totally different symptoms. For me the connection is made and works...until after some period the wifi cuts out completely (doesn't see any other devices). Resetting the wifi (on->off->on) resolves it. I am curious if it is worth exchanging when I am afraid the next device might have worse issues.

    UPDATE
I flashed the v3 ROM from ST and wifi seems to be working properly for me. Reading around further I saw that other people had also been having the problem I had of WiFi seeming not to resume from sleep.

I ended up returning mine. I tried to connecting to a friend's home WIFI also, which I know works fine, and it wouldn't connect at all to it.

Sometimes my wifi on this Polaroid 703c dont start after the tablet goes to sleep, so I have to reset the wifi to make it come back on. Yesterday I tried to use some info I got from a forum eslewhere to make my tablet recognize an ad hoc network. I use adhoctablet.zip to(I guess) replace the wpa_supplicant in system/bin... whatever I did wrong caused my wifi to not work at all. I'm glad I copied wpa_supplicant.original to my sdcard so I could restore it. Does anyone how to make the Polariod 703c connect to ad hoc?
