703c, netflix works on one tablet and not another

I have two 703c tablets (His and Hers). Mine (his) has Netflix on it and it works fine. Provided I dont fast forward and rewind a lot I can watch shows/movies.

Her's on the other hand doesn't get past the netflix boot screen. It starts for a moment then goes back to the home screen. Checking the applications button, it looks like it's still running, but stuck at the start screen. If I switch to it, it bounces back to the menu screen again.

I believe they are both set up similar, and looking at the settings screen they both seem to have the same OS version.

I tried reinstalling netflix several times. I've tried resetting the tablets via the settings window (clear everything). I'm about to copy over my netflix on to hers. But failing that, is there a way to copy the full tablet contents from one to another? Other thoughts are to reflash it.

I've got fair linux skills, but very new to android.

Just looking for ideas why it might run on one and not on the other and what I might do to correct it.

SOLVED: See below. Use version 1.7.0

An update. Netflix released a new version (2.0.0), so I tried to get it. When it refused to download, I uninstalled my copy and tried to get it. Amazon helpfully tells me this wont work on my device.

So, no longer having it I copied her installer over. It doesn't work either.

My only guess is there was a dead version after the one I got. I'll hunt other sources and see if I get lucky. At least I know it's not her hardware. And with that I learned the lesson of flaky android apps and backing up what works.

I had the same issue with a Polaroid tablet. A fellow forum member suggested I use Netflix version 1.6. It works great. Couldn't find it on any market but did a Google search and found a download link. Chuck

        netflix 1.7.0

Finally having a chance to make progress with this.

Netflix 1.7.0 ran fine. It asked to upgrade which I declined. So I have both tablets working as expected.

I found the app on apktop. I don't know if this is a legitimate site or not. But as the software I was looking for was freely available from Netflix, I assume it to be okay. I'm hoping there is nothing hidden inside.

        Thanks chuck3565 for your suggestion.
