Noob in dire need of help. Question about my Android Box

I see all the Beelink, Ugoos etc..How do I find out which one I have and what model and firmware it is?
All I really know is that I bought the same box as the M8 (the person branded the box to his own name). It's a quad-core, comes with 4.4 kitkat and has the 4K support as stated on the box. I am trying to see if there is an update I could do since I'm having some issues with it. Bought it a few days ago and it came with xbmc 13.0 gotham. I wanted to update it to something more newer and was advised to see a few custom builds on here and downloaded the "stan" one. I am getting a lot of script errors on xbmc and can't install much. Sometimes my xbmc shuts down and goes to the main menu of the Android box (windows tiles looking). Just want to know how to find out the information i need when it comes to installing different xbmc builds(my firmware, model etc), which one is stable and best for me right now and things like that.

Sorry for being a noob and hope not to bother anyone with all this information I'm looking for.

    Thank you so much.

    Cheers.

You may have to have a look at the PCB inside to be sure.
4 screws under the rubber pads to pull it apart to be 100% of what the model it is.

    Have a look

    Post 3 & 4 are M8 real

    And all the Roms etc

    Have a good read

Thank you for the informative reply! I opened it up and had a look. It matches post 3 and 4. Chips are labeled Samsung as well. I guess I have the real one then.

I still don't know what my actual model is called so I know where to look for firmwares for it as well as xbmc downloads for my specific device. All I know is that it's a AMLogic and that it has quad-core; basically has the stuff it says on the box. So the questions I have are: What is my box called exactly? What firmware do I have? Where to download new firmware for my device as well as xbmc clients for my device.

      Thank you again, for everything!
