I tried hidemyroot, but it made no difference, so the others probably won't either. I have called it a day on trying to get these things working; clearly the BBC iPlayer will one day work properly, and the ITV player works ok. I am reasonably happy, after all these TV boxes are really bought for one reason, and XBMC works flawlessly (as far as I can tell), so for now, I am happy and have given the box back to my parents.

Thankyou very much for your help. You have pointed me in the right direction several times and I am very grateful.

I must get one of these boxes for myself, they do seem very slick, and are also very well supported by the likes of yourself.

I actually own a Sumvision Cyclone Android TV box (Mygica atv1200 clone I think) which just worked with everything I needed out of the box, so I never had cause to play around with these things. After using the b4a however, mine does seem terribly slow and limiting.
