Which N101 is Which?

    Which N101 is Which?

    I received my N101 today from In4dealz. I ordered it Saturday and got here on Thursday...not bad.

    Out of the box, I noticed no doors for connectors on the left side...black all the way around...camera on the center top. It has two speakers that sound decent.

    It's running Kernel #26 with 4.0.4 loaded.

    It already has Google Play loaded and connects fine.

    I think I'll play with the stock ROM for a little while before I flash, but I'm not sure which ROM to use.

    Any ideas on which version I have, here?

    Also there is no reference to Yuandao anywhere on the tablet, or on the box it came in.

      You have the original n101
      And recommend Bobs latest rom v1.7

          Well I do not know if that is lucky or not! I like mine for sure and since I never had a rev B or the -2 model, I do not know which is better. Seems complaints abound for all models. The only issues I have with mine are:
          1) A little screen bleed when brightness is up all the way and the screen is black. It really doesnt bother me.
          2) Battery drains pretty fast while in sleep. But you can fix that with build.prop and make it much batter.
          FYI my 1.7 ROM with kernel 70 is the best so far with battery drain. Left it on for 20 hours and battery was down to 20%. MOST would say that terrible and in fact compared to other tabs it is! My G2 for instance runs for days asleep. Now latest test on my MORPH ROM is battery is even a little better than that. I got 28 hours to 20%. But that ROM needs more work on my part which I plan to do. It shows some promise.

            I went ahead and flashed the Morph. Yes, it has promise. I don't know if any of it's issues are on 1.7, but it seems to have memory usage issues I haven't encountered on my G3. Anything that downloads at a high bandwidth seems to slow everything down. aDownloader is one of those hogs. Also Netflix seems to slow things down just running in the background. But, hey...it works!!!

            So, are you saying that for now 1.7 is a better experience?

            I'm just now getting around to installing an SD card, so I haven't tested that.

            I also can't mount a USB flash drive.

            Otherwise, this ROM is great.

              I have not been able to really ring out 1.7 ROM. But my previous ROM 1.6 with kernel 485 seemed to be my best combo. But if you read around here some really like kernel 338.

              Bottom lline my 1.7 ROM has all the kernels ever made in it. So you can reflash just the kernel and try different ones and see what works best for you.

              Are you really comparing a dual core to your G3? It blows it away in my opinion
