Surprised this is still here and not on tv box forum,Anyway I just ordered this one today after 2 weeks of reading all reviews and discussions on the latest tv boxes. http://www.geekbuying.com/item/Trons...TS-326822.html
seems to be the most bang for the buck.I felt the minix was more because of the name but for $30 difference it was the tronsmart I chose.

Hope this helps some,Kinda unresponsive group here but that is the trend around all the discussion groups.not trying to start nothing ,just an observation.

It really depends on what you look for in a TV box & who you are. If you are one of the millions of average consumers,
you would consider Roku 2 box the best. It juse works. The only problem is Roku is also the most content provider
box of them all. Make no mistake. Roku's customers are 1st the content providers and only insomuch as they must to
serve them they serve their box owners. They boast about having the most "channels" but 90% of them are either junk or overlaping content providers and pay providers. Roku wants you to assume theirs is the cable cutting box but actually with Roku you trade a single source pay TV (cable) for a multi-source TV. The fees ass up fast. You can easily pay much more
for Roku content providers than you do for cable and still not have as wide a choice of content.

Then, there are Microsoft, Apple, & Linux boxes, not just Android. Of these three, Android is the least developed. You can waste a lot of money quickly on trying several Android Sticks and boxes that are each in their own way buggy and not very good at playing streaming media. As for TV box that is a TRUE Cable Cutter, Matricom MX2 is the best working of the Android devices. Saying this, the MX2 has serious problems but in so far as running XBMC goes it is the best out there so far. The reason it is the best is also the reason only gadget or techie users will like it. The secret to a great Android box is not really the hardware, ITS THE ROM. Its the firmware that operates the hardware. So far, Matricom has the best in that their ROM allows for a functioning XBMC! The problem with the MX2 is the Matricom company. They have their profit cart in front of their development cart. They do a lot of dishonest advertising. Supposedly, they have
a new ROM that solves the many buggy problems of the MX2 ROM. Four months and still they sell new boxes with the old ROM, which cannot sync properly with Matricoms own remotes! They let buyers assume the problem is with the Remotes but not so. All three work well with other devices, just not with the MX2, which is what they are for!

Right now, you can easily put your own system together. Linux already works very well as a TV Box. My Advise to you?
Research this site for the TV box that works Linux best and then install the Linux XBMC. You will have like me a kick ass XDMC box and TV box in general, plus a excellent general computer that uses HD TV as its monitor.
