Forget all other methods. I made this a while ago... It's simple and roots you with full SU and Superuser.

I wasn't trying to ack like a newb or upset you, this is an update and wanted to make sure the root method I used for 008 would work for this.

If I remember correctly, they support init (init.d) BUT forget to create the folder

mkdir /system/etc/init
chmod 0755 /system/etc/init

No sound

Just flashed this update twice to make sure that wasn't it but I have no sound now. It was working before I flashed this update, any one else with this issue? Any ideas before I flash back to 008?
I made no changes to settings besides turning volumes up to max.

I had same problem..i think it is Minix x8 settings spdif passthrough...when I went to PCM, waited a while, sound came on and it worked fine. Still no sound when use spidf passthrough...dont see anything on the forums either...hope this helps.

I do not know what you guys are using to look for the init folder but it is there.

Just open my ZIP file in windows and you will see it is in /system/etc/init

In Android what ever file explorer you are using make sure you turn on root explorer and show hidden files.

I had same problem..i think it is Minix x8 settings spdif passthrough...when I went to PCM, waited a while, sound came on and it worked fine. Still no sound when use spidf passthrough...dont see anything on the forums either...hope this helps.

The update had nothing that helps me anyways. What I was looking for from MINIX was Google plus and a lot of my apps to work. But even with no sound I still couldn't get compatability with the apps I use most like Google plus. Hopefully the next update will have that fixed.

No, Google plus can't be loaded on this device. The play store says it is incompatable and won't let you down load it. I even side loaded it and changed permissions and it would just force close upon opening. I really appreciate you looking into this. I also had to go back to 008 because I had no sound. As soon as I flashed back, I had sound again.

I see the same thing as Bigleg when I unzip the folder. There is an init-pppd.sh file in the bin folder. That seems to be the only file that has any sort of init designation.

edit: also it seems there is a 002 modified version of the original beta 009 (absurd, why not use other numbering scheme as 0.9.0, 0.9.1 ...), (menu button fixed? is this flashable version based in original or in the fixed one? thanks!
