Zoomtak T8 and M8 official firmwares

I am happy with the new T8 v1 Linux-Kodi software, only the ir-remote is not working, it still is switching on and off but nothing more and I wander is there a solution or a next version to wait for?

On my Raspberry I am using Kaosbox (loaded Kodi distro) and I hope there will be a Linux version soon because they are still tunning, adjusting and making it better and better.

OK the seller JFrogs has stopped selling. I will post some pics at the weekend.Seems a genuine box as had back off before.

So basically single band wifi and bluetooth. I have flashed 3 times and tried on a mates box bought at the same time. Both have issues and can see wifi but can't switch it on after V2 new firmware added, Everything else works.

either email the seller or open up the unit and take some snapshots of the board especially the chipsets so we can indentify it correctly so many variant units these days it joke

Yes I had only single band wifi and bluetooth prior to flash. So only 2,4 ghz wifi and no 5ghz. S thats whats confusing as does not say T8 V2 on base.

reflash it v2 then, did you have bluetooth prior flashing?

I have aT8 that seems to be different. I assume a V1 as single band wifi but it has bluetooth? . I have flashed new V2 firmware and now have no wifi only lan (it appears but will not switch on)

Any ideas anyone?

Hi,

I talked to Zoomtak SW engineer about doubts which device is which.

Here are list of Zoomtak S802 devices:

• T8 (single band wifi - 8188eu, without bluetooth)
• T8 V2 (dual band wifi with bluetooth)
• M8 (dual band wifi with bluetooth)

T8 V2 and M8 devices uses same firmware (as it's same hardware in different packaging).

There are two ways of identifying T8 device. 1st, if you don't have Bluetooth settings in Settings app, you have T8 (first version), otherwise T8 V2. 2nd, on bottom of box should be written on sticker V2 which stands for T8 V2 version.

Install instructions:
Download all files, put them to root of sdcard and power device on with recovery button pressed or select .zip file from Upgrade app inside Android.

These are not mine firmwares so I don't accept feature requests lol, but you can write some feedback here, maybe Zoomtak staff will read this thread

Hi thought I should state for the record that I have a T8 that has no V2 on the bottom but does have dual wifi and bluetooth. Its a used unit from Amazon so I dont know if its been upgraded or what. Im a newb buy I dont think firmware alone will enable 5.8ghz wifi.

I have T8 latest firmware w/ kodi wizard but its on an SD card. PM me if you have an idea on how to get it to you.
