    WIFI problems

    Hi Guys

I have bought an CX-919, downloadet an rom for it and installed.
Outcome: No WIFI which are a little important :-)

Other roms, mainly finnless does not even turn the screen on at the TV.

    The dongle is bought here:
    http://www.****.com/itm/2GB-8G-RK318...:X:AAQ:US:1123

I can see the chip is RK3188-T.

I have downloaded several roms, which other people in the forum has downloaded and which solved their problem.
None of the ones i have tried, gives me wifi.

Can I see on the stick, which wifi model I'm dealing with ? If i can it should be possible to go for ROM's with that specific WIFI type.

Bluetooth is not working eather, but is not that important for me :-)

Anyone able to help out here ?

Generally all those type of sticks came with ap6210 wifi chip but the only way you will know for sure is to pop open the case and look at the pcb board ap6210 is silver in color and has 6210 engraved in the housing. If your not sure take pictures and post them here somebody will recognize what you have. Hope that helps.

    Cheers,

update found the original firmware this has the realtek 8723bs wifi chipset so none of the customs that I know of will work for this stick. But being its kitkat 4.4.2 stock you really should be ok with the stock rom.

here is the page to download stock rom:

      hope this helps.

The MK809III I got on **** also has RTL8723BS wifi. I think the CX-919 is the same thing with a different casing on it. I downloaded a 4.2 firmware for it, and have linked to it in my signature.

I prefer 4.2.2 over 4.4.2 because I can root it and have not figured out how to do that on Kit Kat.

          Hi Guys.

Thanks for the help. Really appriciated.

I wanted a better rom, as the stick was lagging, when streaming movies from my media server.

How can it be no one is developing on this model ? Is it because it so new?

What about the 4.2.2 rom. Does it runs more smoothly.
How do you benefit by routing it, when you can't get a custom rom ??

          Cheers

Not a lot of development on it because it's not a common set up. If the 4.2 ROM works on yours, I did ask Prahjister to work on some kernels for it. He has patched and overclocked the GPU and RAM, but CPU overclock doesn't work from my testing. He also has some nice init.d scripts with it.

There is not an Custom ROM for it, per se.

I downloaded HERE the Rockchip Factory Tool to debloat/customize mine, but be careful, you can go too far with this. I deleted the stock keyboard and added null input method as default, and did a search of all the apk's preinstalled, to see what was essential. Once you flash it, you can easily root it, but I use THIS TOOL to root anything RK3188 Android 4.2. Once you get there, you can remove any junk apps you have left over, or use Titanium backup to freeze them. Tada! You now have a custom ROM, feel free to add anything you want.

I will ask Prahjister if he can make a post with the boot/kernel link or share it here. Since it is not my work, I will not share the boot/kernel images without his permission.

With permission, here are the kernels and scripts, from Prahjister

You'll need to use the freaktab flash tool that comes with most roms around here. I used the one from Neomodes MK809III ROM because it looks cool and is probably more functional.

Flash the stock 4.2 rom, then get into flash mode again. Using the freaktab tool and DO NOT ERASE IDB.

Uncheck the boxes to the left all of the images, then select only Boot and Kernel. Click on the box to the right of the Boot and Kernel directory and find the extracted folder and select boot.img and the appropriate kernel.img. There are higher CPU kernels, but I did not have any success with them. Overclocking GPU and RAM is probably enough, especially with the CX-919 since it does not have air holes that I am aware of.

Flash the boot and kernel, and it will reboot and you are ready to go. I'll let Prahjister take it from here to explain the scripts (cpu and cpu performance):

"After flashing you have to move the files by hand.
copy the startup.sh in to the system/etc directory
make a /system/etc/init.d folder and place the cpu script in it.
You might have to tweak the script. I had to guess on it. Look at the files it is referencing and double check the location."

You'll need root explorer or some similar root file browser to do this, and you'll probably need to use the text editor to modify them before you use them, because there is a mistake on the cpuperformance script, it says /cpu13/ and should say cpu3. Also, you may want to change the cpu script to say 1416000 instead of 1608000, since you aren't overclocking cpu.
