Firmware and twrp question and backups

Quick question, do I install the firmware and then twrp recovery or do I install twrp recovery first and then upgrade to new firmware? (finless 1.8)

Also does the twrp recovery backup firmware, xbmc and settings? (I'm thinking I can set one box up perfectly and backup the whole image. Then just restore that image to another identical box to save me having to keep setting another new box up).

    Appreciate the responses!

TWRP backup and then install new firmware, I think 1.7 works better myself.

I´ve ran TWRP on my M8 but tbh I´ve yet to reinstall it so I´m unsure if it gets the xbmc userdata but I´m pritty sure PT_Abdul said TWRP does indeed backup the xbmc userdata. If I were you I´d use "SD-USBwizard" from xunity repo or the "xbmc backup" from xbmc.org repo and backup xbmc just to be 100% sure. Theres an APK here on freaktab too that will fully backup xbmc.
